Just north of Malta by a few miles lies the island of Gozo which today is reached by a modern ferry. In the days of the crusades the Knights Templar made Valletta on Malta their base. The Grand Master of the Templars liked to relax a little from his duties and escape the busy hustle and bustle of daily life and so he and his entourage travelled to this little valley on Gozo which is blessed with natural sweet water springs. Here they would hold the equivalent of a modern day barbecue and enjoy the lush vegetation and cooling natural springs. Its very cool, peaceful, full of birdsong, its well of the tourist beaten track but if you're ever lucky enough to visit you too will experience the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful place.
