Our captain was returning us from our Bakalar lake tour. We told him we were hungry, he recommended two places. This one was one of them, which was right to the dock where we had started the tour. I was a little hesitant, he said his son worked there. I thought maybe, he was trying to help his son's work out, which is nice, but I wanted a honest recommendation. Well shame on me for assuming. This restaurant was really good, had a beautiful view and it was super cute! He was right and not just suggesting it because his son works there. We ordered a shrimp Flatbread, and the shrimp ceviche. The Flatbread was really good, way bigger then I thought, totally shareable. Shrimp ceviche was also really good and fresh, I poured some of the habanero juice into it and mixed it up, it was delicious. The shrimp were JUMBO, I had that with chips. My friends ordered fries, the octopus, steak tacos, octopus tacos, the lava cake with ice cream and cheesecake. We loved it all! I also enjoyed the lava cake, it was fresh, warm and not too sweet, just perfect. We will most likely be back before we leave to try some of the other stuff that sounded amazing. I enjoyed a ojo rojo with a corona. The service was also really good. Some of the reviews say it's expensive but I say it's cheaper than the U.S. and Cancun or Cozumel. I say it's worth it and highly...
Read moreWe first visited this restaurant a year ago, and after coming back recently, I’m thrilled to say that nothing has changed. The food is still absolutely fantastic! It’s rare to find a place that maintains such a high standard of quality over time, but this restaurant truly delivers.
One of the things I love most is how diverse and tempting the menu is. Over the course of my visits, I’ve had the chance to try many different dishes, and each one was better than the last. It honestly becomes harder to decide what to order because everything is so delicious. Whether you’re in the mood for something hearty or light, you’re guaranteed to find something that will leave you satisfied.
The atmosphere is another highlight. The restaurant has a wonderful vibe, perfect for both a relaxing lunch or a more intimate dinner. The staff is welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience even better.
Practical details also make it a great choice. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, and there’s even parking available for customers, which is incredibly convenient.
Whether it’s lunch or dinner, I know that every time I return to Bacalar, this restaurant will be at the top of my list. It’s a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly...
Read moreLa Playita is a nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and good food.
Food The food tasted good. The smoothies were made with fresh fruit.
Staff The staff was friendly and accommodating. One point deducted because our ketchup refill didn't arrive.
Ambience The ambiance is lovingly designed and invites you to linger. It is clean and well-maintained. Guests can use the lagoon access for swimming. Be sure to bring your swimsuit.
Costs The food was reasonably priced. We paid around 350 pesos per person, including drinks.
Car Parking The restaurant is located directly on the lagoon road, which is rather narrow and offers hardly any parking for cars. However, it leads directly up a street towards the center, where we found a free parking space. There is also a paid parking space here.
Scooters and mopeds can always find a parking space.
I deduct one point for all the locations directly on the lagoon because... The lagoon should be freely accessible to everyone, but the entrances to restaurants and tour operators are blocked off and blocked off.
This simply shouldn't be allowed. There are only a few access points to the lagoon left for locals and visitors: They are called balnearios. One of the most famous is the Balneario Municipal...
