Me and my girlfriend went here for a quick manicure for her and pedicure for both of us. While my experience was ok, my girlfriend had a terrible time.
First of all, a simultaneous mani/pedi treatment should not take 2,5 hours! And we were the only clients there during that time! Part of the reason it took so long was that the woman who was supposed to be doing my girlfriend’s manicure - Patricia - apparently forgot that she charged us for it (a price that would look more appropriate north of the border, may I add), and just wandered off to do absolutely nothing outside of the salon.
After being reminded that we paid for a procedure she forgot to do, she came back - but it would probably be better if she stayed outside. Despite being asked several time - in a very nice and polite way - to be more careful, Patricia continued to be very rough, all while doing an absolutely amateur job an actually applying the nail polish, getting it far outside the nail.
Not only that, but during all this time she kept complaining to her colleagues about how my girlfriend was a diva for asking her not to hurt her fingers and pointing out the places where Patricia was sloppy with applying the nail polish. Here’s a free hint: if you’re going to complain about your clients WHILE THEY ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, make sure they really can’t understand the language you are speaking.
We ended up asking to cut the procedure short and leaving (at 2,5 hours, “cutting short” sounds a bit strange, but they were still not finished!). The “manicure” we paid for left my girlfriend with hurt fingers and bare nails. With the number of spas and nail salons in Puerto Vallarta, you are better off finding a...
Read moreI regret my experience at Spa Holistic.
The space was clean and the staff was friendly. Typically, I opt for a deep tissue massage, but I chose the Hot Stone massage at Spa Holistic.
My masseuse seemed friendly and even relieved some pain in my neck; however, she never checked with me on the level of pressure, temperature of the stones, etc.
The temperature of the stones were EXTREMELY hot. Although the stones were hot to the point of being painful, I assumed my masseuse had experience with hot stone massages, so I also assumed the temperature of the stones was normal. I left the massage with a hot and painful sensation on my back, but I figured it would relieve after some time.
It wasn’t until I arrived back to my hotel room, shortly after the massage, that I realized I have extreme burns from the hot stones. My skin is literally raw where the stones were placed, due to my skin being burnt off.
I’m disappointed that my masseuse failed to mention anything, although it is very apparent that my skin is blistering and raw.
The burn is so terrible that a pharmacist has advised me to stay out of the sun, watch for infection, fever, chills, etc. while on a beach vacation. Unsafe practices and huge...
Read moreSpa Holistic is a very clean, well appointed spa located overlooking the beach behind Playa Los Arcos in the middle of the romantica zone!
When we arrived in Puerto Vallarta, we had several hours until our room would be ready. We had been up and traveling since 2:00 am ET, so I opted to visit the spa for a pedicure so I could relax.
They have several plush massage chairs lined up overlooking the beach. The spa is very clean and smells wonderful. The attendant did an amazing job scrubbing and massaging my tired calves and feet, it was heavenly. I pointed out the nail color I wanted, but unfortunately zoned out during the service and didn’t realize it was the wrong shade of pink until after. Oh well!
My husband and I returned a few days later for their couples massage special, $114 USD for 2 for an hour. Our therapists did an amazing job of getting the right spots and stretching our sore muscles.
The entire facility felt very clean and everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming. All in all, a great experience I would...
