Museo Vivo del Muralismo — Attraction in Mexico City

An unexpected highlight of my trip! Hundreds of murals! Don’t usually write reviews, but I had to make my case to others for a visit. I believe it’s recently opened in its current capacity and not many seem to know about it, so it was very quiet when I visited. Plan on around 3 hours. Consider a Monday, when other museums are closed. Do something else in the morning, eat a decent lunch then stop in the afternoon - because many internal exhibit rooms were strongly air conditioned and had various seats - perfect antidote for hot and tiring touristing. The cafeteria didn’t offer much, so only plan on a drink there. If you can go while the jacarandas are in bloom, those in the courtyard nearly steal the show from the murals. But I was so thoroughly impressed by the art. I hope to return and take a guided tour. I do wish they posted about that online. It would also be helpful if they offered WiFi, to be able to translate some text that isn’t displayed in more than one language (some is, some isn’t). Overall, what a pleasant surprise!...

El Museo Vivo del Muralismo es, sin duda, una experiencia increíble que todo amante del arte y la historia debe visitar. Uno de los aspectos más impactantes es la forma en que las obras se presentan como un relato vivo. Las explicaciones que acompañan los murales son detalladas, accesibles y enriquecedoras, permitiendo que incluso quienes no son expertos en arte comprendan y aprecien la profundidad de cada obra. Además, el museo ofrece talleres y actividades interactivas que te invitan a explorar tu propia creatividad, haciendo que la visita sea aún más especial.

El espacio en sí es impresionante, con salas amplias y bien iluminadas que hacen justicia a las monumentales obras de arte. La atención del personal también es excelente; están siempre dispuestos a responder preguntas y enriquecer tu experiencia.

Si eres amante del arte, la historia o simplemente buscas una experiencia cultural única, el Museo Vivo del Muralismo es un lugar que no te puedes perder. Stumbled upon this beauty on a street off of templo mayor I really needed to use the restroom and thought to myself I will pay a museum fee to see what they have and also pee to feed two birds with one seed and to my surprise 😮 I entered a magical treasure for my eyes and senses!!!! The entrance was free!!!! Beautiful restrooms and 3 levels covered in Diego Rivera murals!!!!!!!!!!!!! The building was breathtaking it was outdoors so you can enjoy the bird's singing as you walk and see the murals all over the walls...
