I would just warn people from other countries. Check for hidden items they add on your bill and remember that a 10% tip is good if the experience was ok. 15-20% if you had a really good time. I took some Canadians to eat there ( I'm a local).
Everything was great until we got our bill. I found some items we didn't consume, or ordered.. no big deal, They EVENTUALLY took it off the bill ( thank GOD I know spanish and checked the bill) but even that was weird because no one apologized for the item that was added that we didn't order. Again, no big deal, mistakes happen.
When we got our final bill and paid with cash, that's when I saw the staff be really fishy with the bill. We are sure one of the servers ( who wasn't even taking care of us during the meal) pocketed some of the tip- then he acted like we didn't tip enough. ( even though we gave a 20+% tip) we all counted the money a few times and saw all the money there before handing it over... as soon as this other guy took the money, a portion went missing. He also was acting so weird about it the second he took the money. He automatically knew there was not enough tip without even counting it or knowing how much the guest tipped..
You would think as a server you would check that you have the amount of money from the bill... how do you know if money is missing if no one told you how much they tipped? Also, when we all looked confused and told him there should be x amount of bills in the check, his initial reaction wasn't to look at the floor to see if he accidently dropped it, he just started yelling saying we imagined giving it to him. The manager and other staff just looked confused and didn't say anything... which was also weird. My guests being CANADIAN were too nice to say anything even though we all knew we got scammed out of money. It was the strangest thing I've ever encountered before, and I still think about this to this day.
It makes me sad to see people from my lovely country be dishonest. Other countries will get bad impressions. I was so embarrassed... I kept apologizing to my friends and told them that it was a misunderstanding. I didn't want them to think bad about the restaurant.
We all left there knowing that guy...
Read moreCame here on a recommendation and was extremely upset with my experience. The waitstaff were all cordial and all said hi. The atmosphere was beautiful with great views of both the cathedral and ruins of the pyramids. Where this place fell short is when I actually placed my order. My wife and I ordered a pulpo taco, ceviche and the special filet (medium) with squash flower that the waiter himself recommended. Only one of three items made it to the table. I made sure to order the filet medium due to us being a bit of a hurry to get somewhere. 50 minutes later and the filet never made it to the table. My wife received the wrong tacos but she ate one anyway thinking it was going to be what she actually ordered. It was not. I waved the waiter over since we needed drink refills and asked about my meal. He said you never ordered that. I also mentioned not getting what we ordered and he reviewed his notes and sure enough he forgot to put in our order. I asked for the check after he wanted to place the order now almost an hour later. This was a ridiculous experience all around and the waiter definitely did not earn his keep. I understand errors happen but, how does it happen when you are the one suggesting the food? This place is overpriced, and needs improvements. Skip this place and try one of the many other options...
Read moreThis place looks really cool when I researched it and it was close to where I was staying in Mexico City so I decided to try it out with a friend. The rooftop setting is very beautiful. We started with an order of the guacamole and it was totally average. No limes or additional salsas and no chips. My friend ordered the beef shank and in all honesty that came out pretty good. I ordered the beef fillet and after much back-and-forth got my point across that I wanted it cooked rare. What came out on the plate I have no idea. It certainly was not a fillet of beef. Some other cut for sure but you could tell it wasn’t fresh at all. And the worst part was it was cooked well done. I took one bite and could not even take another. If the chef had taken his shoe off and cooked it it probably would’ve been better. I told the waiter and asked him to inform the chef. When the bill came the file was on there and I questioned it with the waiter saying it wasn’t even what I ordered and I didn’t even eat it. He gave me the Mexican shrug of the shoulders. Highly advise against going to this overpriced Version of what they want you to think is a high-end restaurant. Go to Applebee’s instead down the block and you’ll get a...
