Knightsbridge Motor Lodge — Attraction in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

I stayed at this motel after a long trip from Wellington. It was dark and raining heavily and was chosen because it was the first motel.popping up on my GPS. The manager was more concerned about collecting money than being hospitable to a customer on a bad night. To top it off they wanted a $50 deposit for the key.|The room. No hot water was available u til the morning. The hot water cylinder was turned on upon arrival. I was asked if I wanted milk for my coffee and when said no was asked if the fridge could be turned off. As a seasoned traveller I am used to varying quality of motel rooms but this is the first time that no soap in the bathroom has been.provided. Small hand soap must be hugely expensive. I never tried the WiFi although there was a modem in the room. The weather was to inclement to go back to reception. Having to.pay for WiFi as advised in earlier reviews is not the way to encourage returns. The heat pump was turned on when I arrived. Room temp 18 degrees, temp wanted 25 degrees. Temp after 25 minutes 18. We're it for the fact that the sheets were clean and I had a good night's sleep this review would have been 1 . The complex has over 20 units but only 2 were in use. Absolutely worst motel in NZ you pay $1050.00 per week and you get cockroaches a broken toaster, unchanged sheets, no toilet paper cold showers and a owner who dosint allow any visitors, my younger brothers mother and 87year old caucasian grandmother where shoed away at 2pm daytime as if they were criminals, owner threatening to call police if he sees any visitors again...aparantley you need to pay more than $1050 to have somebody else be allowed in your room..ABSOLUTELY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE POOR OR NEEDY THRU CHARGING WINZ THESE OUTRAGEOUS PRICES FOR SUCH DISCUSTING ROOMS AND THEN ONCE PAID TREATING THEM LIKE A-GRADE SCUM..owners not really wanting these people on emergency housing to stay just wanting the goverment funded money...they should be treating these people like any tourist or v.i.p patron whos staying on holiday or buisness BECAUSE THEYRE PAYING THE SAME IF NOT MORE ...
