A Land of Mist and Mana From Cape Reinga's far-flung, windswept sand, Down to the south, where glaciers stand, Lies Aotearoa, a land green and grand, The shining jewel of this southern land. We’re a nation of hillsides and bush-clad terrain, Where the sun finds the ocean and we all embrace the rain. We've the pōhutukawa, a crimson Christmas crown, And the world's best flat white in every small town. We love a good barbie with snags on the plate, And we say "Sweet as, bro!" when things are first-rate. We're fans of the All Blacks, a powerful scrum, And reckon that pūkeko are notoriously dumb. You'll find little towns with one dairy and pub, And big, starry skies from a remote tramping club. We're a mix of cultures, Māori and more, Holding fast to the values we stand firm for. There's the deep blue of Rotorua's hot, sulfurous steam, And Queenstown's great beauty, a mountainous dream. We cheer for the underdog, keep things on the sly, And call out "Gidday, mate!" with a twinkle in the eye. So come and be welcome, breathe deep of the air, The beauty's unmatched, there's always time to share. It's an island life, simple, and honest, and true— From the coast to the mountains, we're...
Read moreI decided to do a little Christmas shopping today at NorthWest Farmers on my day off, I walked around the first floor of Farmers looking for anything that caught my eye as a suitable gift. As I was heading towards the cosmetic section I heard via a nearby employee’s radio “watch that guy over there” I was aware that I was the only “guy” in this part of the store, so immediately I was interested to know if this was directed towards me, or maybe I had misheard the communication.
As I was stood in the aisle browsing, I noticed this young male employee had appeared at the end of the aisle, so after some time I moved to another nearby aisle, interestingly this young male employee had followed me, so I moved again, and again. It was BLATANTLY obvious I was being watched, upon making eye contact his mannerism confirmed this. It was really intimidating and I was made to feel like a criminal.
For a store which I am sure generates the majority of its revenue from walk-in sales, I find it extremely disappointing I cannot do so without feeling under suspicion.
I will now be shopping elsewhere...

We all know farmers is expensive anyway and so when they have their sales it's not always cheap. My only thing is when I literally just walked in and the chick at the perfume counter can see I just walked in. I start to test some perfumes why are they always up in your face like give me time to look lady, you don't need to stalk me like I'm going to steal something yes I know you have cameras every where. It's like they don't want you to spray and test, most of the ladies at this farmers at the perfume counter do this, either stare you down to the point you feel uncomfortable and leave. I did not see her giving the same treatment to the lady of not colour in...
