Coffee shops are the new home away from home. As a caffeine addict, I am always on the hunt for my next cup of coffee to get me through my day. This is especially difficult when I'm busy writing blogs finding a comfortable spot to write and have limited options in terms of coffee shops. Luckily for me, Orra Coffee Shop was close to the Library in Northgate!
The shop is compact, with a variety of tables and chairs at the front. The menu is on chalkboard walls and has everything I need - coffee, tea, pastries!
To top it all off there were plug points around the cafe where you could charge your laptop or phone if needed! or write blogs!
I ordered a latte and then settled down near one of the plugs at someone's seat awaiting my drink; I wanted to be able to get my teeth stuck into the croissant and carrot cake when they came.
I was happily waiting in anticipation of what I knew would be a delicious cup of coffee, reading some magazines or the paper that people had left on their tables. When my drink arrived, at last, it did not disappoint! The latte was creamy, not too sweet, and tasted of the coffee beans.
I really rate this place 5 star - it's a barista who drips some latte art on your drink for you so that was cool! The banoffee cake is amazing (with cream) and I'll be coming back to try out more croissants which are delicious.
I was so impressed with the service and energy in this coffee shop.
Thanks,! It's also really close to Northgate Complex which is where I work on my blogs...
Read moreWas there around 9am on Saturday. There was only one lady staff serving behind the counter. I had a group of 6 customer in front of me(in the queue), they were taking their time to decide on what they will have. I just wanted a take away coffee and the wait felt like forever. It took them nearly 10 mins to place their orders. The lady staff looked stressed but she was doing the best she could. She was preparing the food as she went and between each of the 6 orders. I ended up leaving the place as I guessed it would at least "another" 10 mins for her to do 6 cups of coffees and the food. I would have thought being a Saturday morning they would rostered more staff on, or maybe they had staff calling in sick, don't know but it definitely not a good first experience where customer service is concerned. Suggestion-the staff could have at least acknowledged me, say hello or something and I would have stayed but as I said earlier she had too much on her plate at the time. No comments on the food or coffee as this feedback is purely on service and customer experience from the visit. Considering putting more staff on for busier time Saturdays/weekend mornings. It was a shame, place looks neat and tidy but didn't get a chance to...

As a Barista at Orra Cafe, we have THE BEST customers any hospitality worker could ask for. From our regulars to the workers around Westgate and all new comers we are so thankful for your beautiful hearts and smiles every day. Personally believe I have the best bosses I've had since starting hospitality 10 years ago. Sokol and Astrit are not only attentive and hard working owners but the support staff growth and all ideas we have to better customers experiences. Atmosphere is always pumping with sick tunes and sometimes customers are serenading us with thier questionable singing voices and dance moves. All this pushes me to provide my personal best and makes my day to day extremely enjoyable. Seldom is there a place where staff also feel equally as important as customers. Happy to be here and...
