Fresh N Save Birkenhead — Attraction in Kaipātiki

Will have to go in my first experience. Lots of variety - some questionable quality on display as much is not refrigerated and looked like it.

Some decent prices to be had but equally some cheaper elsewhere. Our bag of peppers had one that was rotten inside so, anything not viewable completely will probably have to be bought elsewhere to ensure quality.

Haven’t tried the meat section yet - purely fruit and veg.

Staff were pleasant enough when checking out and the Asian dried/tinned/canned food was plentiful.

Will no doubt try again but it’s marked down due to questionable...

Great selection of fruit, veggies, spices, and goods from various countries not available at standard supermarkets. I always love to grab a can of drink as they have a big selection of flavors that are uncommon in New Zealand (lychee, quava, strawberry, canned bubble tea, grass jelly, yogurt fizzy drink and more). Good place for a full grocery shop, most of your grocery shop or just to buy a snack. Normally a vibrant friendly store that serves both fruit/veg & meats ( contains a butchers corner.) Unfortunately i experienced a female staff member who forgot what her position consisted, & that is to serve the customers & not argue with them. She should remember that this is not the only store that serves stock like they do & if she keeps arguing with the customers, they may not return to shop there again.
