FAT BOYS BIRKENHEAD — Restaurant in Kaipātiki

Very disappointing and distressed. Been a regular for quite some time now. As usual, I've ordered a green chilli fried rice (with pork) over the phone, picked it up, paid and came back home. At around 8pm my husband opened the lid and started eating and commented that it didn't tasted as good and that it wasn't spicy at all (I've stressed it had to be extra spicy). Called the restaurant, explained and the staff agreed to make another one on the next day. Today, I called and a staff named Rex answered. Even after a repetition of explanation, he kept on saying that we have to pay for the fried rice which was promised to be given to us for free. He refused to understand me and rather was being very rude. I was shaking even after I hung up the phone with fear and anger. It was just a fried rice and they've lost a loyal customer. They make great food yet they would need to train their staff up to the standard and offer better...

Totally disappointed and disgusted how they lied and led me to believe as I had asked 3 times to reassure I was purschasing Crayfish in garlic at $68.00 x4 chicken/ beef kebabs and corn cobs picture with 2 to on each skewer. Home after driving to the Waitakere's found that my meal content was Australian baby Gabbies not Crayfish. The corn cobs were chopped as halves not like what was pictured and the chicken and beef weren't even skewered. We have lived in Birkenhead for 20years and have had great food. Its these types of restaurants who serve you with arrogance,no flinch to care to serving nor politeness just rip offs, bunch of thieves!! WARNING: DON'T THINK TO BUY ANYTHING FROM "FATBOYS RESTAURANT" IN BIRKENHEAD AUCKLAND AT ALL!!

My friend took me there, but we were both very disappointed with the food and service there. Food is very average, small size skewers. They charged $2.5 for one skewer of mushroom, 3 pieces on the skewer, one piece is about a quarter of a mushroom. such a rip off, the pair of oysters they served, one oyster is half size of the other one. In total, we spent over 90 dollars for 2 people, it was over $80 without holiday surcharge. We have just been to another place the day before, food tasted way better, and we spent just over $70. we ordered more food, their skewers are normal size unlike this place.

Service is bad too, clearly there are enough bad reviews from customers, but it didn't seem the owner cared to improve. and only looked ay closely on how to profit.
