Yesterday I had the worst experiance ever at the Puma store at DressSmart mall. The reason for this review is the way the mall's security staff handled the way, I had purchased a pair of shoes from Puma at DressSmart mall for my little daughter (6 yrs) exactly 5 months ago yesterday. The quality of the shoes is so bad it only lasted 2 months before it got really badly ripped. Yesterday I went to the store with the shoes in the original packaging and provided evidence of purchase. They located the transaction in their system successfully and asked me what I want. I said a refund, since they have a six months refund policy. They said oh but it has been more that six months! I explained it was 5 months to the day! They said, oh but we can only offer an exchange and not a refund. I said ok, give me a $60 gift card so that I can use that in your store. They said no we cannot do that, you have to go and pick up an item for a similar value right now!! It was clear that they are just making my life hard, but I did not want trouble. We went and picked up the same exact pair of shoes which is also being sold for the exact same price. I came back to the counter to find 2 security guards and about 3 staff waithing for me. When it was my turn, I gave them the new pair of shoes, the security guy asked for the old pair of shoes! I actually did not notice he was just a security guard, so I showed him the old pair of shoes; he said "this is used, it cannot be exchanged!" I said of course it is used, and the fact that it is in this misrable state since its been used for very few months is what warrants a refund or at least an exchange, based on Puma's own policies. I further explained that the staff have already agreed to exchange it, the security guy then said "I did not agree"! Then the security guys came too close and terrorised me and my wife and kids and acted as if they want to fight, they exchanged positions behind me and told me to leave the store!! They even lied to me about taking me to the Puma store manager! At this point, my kids were crying out of being scared and terrorised by the whole experience... I did not want to escalate the situation any further, so left the store. Outside a third security gaurd was waiting for me too. I called the police so he asked the 2 security gaurds who were terrorising me to leave, I clicked at that point and took photos of them and of him and also of the Puma superviser. The 3rd security guy said I am not allowed to take photos!! I told the police lady whom I was talking to and she said of course I can!! The 3rd security guy then threattened to trespass me from the mall! I decided to deflate the situation and leave with my terrorised wife and kids. The 3rd security guy kept on following us till we left the mall!!
Foegwt about Puma, could the mall security guards...

I visited Mövenpick at Dressmart, Onehunga, on Thursday evening around 5:30pm. I noticed a new ice cream flavour, Espresso Croquant, and as a coffee lover who enjoys the Cappuccino and Tiramisu flavours, I was curious to try it. The server asked if I wanted to sample the new flavour, and before doing so, I specifically asked if it contained tree nuts. He assured me that it did not, which I relied on since I have a severe tree nut allergy. After taking just a small spoonful of the Espresso Croquant, I immediately felt a tingling sensation on my tongue, signaling something was wrong. I had ordered a scoop of the Cappuccino flavor to help mask the tingling, hoping it would subside, but it didn’t. I quickly tried to find my partner to alert him about the allergic reaction. In the end, he had to call an ambulance, and I was taken to Middlemore Hospital. The hospital filled out ACC forms and took my statement regarding the incident. I am absolutely appalled by the misinformation I was given and the lack of attention to detail that led to this serious situation. My family and friends are furious about what happened. This is a life-or-death matter, and something needs to change. This could happen to anyone if staff aren’t more careful and considerate, and it’s essential that your team takes these matters seriously. I will be looking into what actions can be taken, as this should never have been allowed to happen. It’s simply...
Read moreThis place is reputed to sell name-brand apparels at cheaper prices. Personally, I feel the jury is still out regarding that.
I walked into a couple of shops looking for a good deal on sports shoes. The prices didn't particularly inspire. A major sporting goods chain sells cheaper stuff during their regular sale days. I suppose you just have to be here at the right time and looking for the right item. My son did get a good deal for a pair of top brand sports shoes.
On a side note, the fire alarm went off on the day we visited so everyone had to be evacuated. The wardens were pretty casual about it, as if it was just a drill. It was the real thing though because fire trucks arrived.
The shoppers were allowed back in after about 20 minutes. My curiosity prompted me to ask a salesperson if it was a false alarm. The young lady just grinned widely and said some kid must have pulled the fire alarm, suggesting that these things happen quite often.
It was particularly inconvenient for us because we were with my 83-year-old father who has a hard time climbing stairs. But we had to evacuate like everyone else.
The building owner could do a better job of securing the fire alarms from children. On the other hand, I guess the reputation of the place does attract a particular type...
