Sonia designed an experience for us students of the lemon meringue tart class that was amazing from start to end. I learned a handful of new techniques like fraisage, sprinkling flour on the benchtop correctly and how to make a perfectly balanced lemon curd and italian meringue. I liked the structure of watching Sonia demonstrate the techniques and then we all get to apply them ourselves. Also enjoyed the treats and tea she served during our intros, and the fact that we got to take home several tarts in the Vaniyé box to boast what we’ve made with family and peers! Mine were super impressed. Would definitely be keen to attend other classes after this, especially the more advanced ones...
Read moreI took a masterclass with Chef Sonia and had a wonderful time. The class takes place in Vaniyé's beautiful bespoke kitchen in Onehunga. (If you turned a luxury spa into a kitchen, that'd be it. It's beautiful, high-spec and fills you with joy and serenity the moment you walk in.) Sonia is so friendly and knowledgeable, she's able to teach people with various levels of knowledge. I'd recommend these classes to anyone interested in starting their baking journey / expanding their baking knowledge / building confidence or just spending an invigorating morning with the best people and best food....
Read moreWe had such a wonderful time at the chocolate praline class. Sonia was so kind and considerate, making sure we were all on the same journey throughout the class. There were a lot of elements to the cake but she took us through them and it made it much less daunting! Any questions we had she was always so happy to answer and the cake at the end was well worth the wait! Would 1000% go to another class again. Thank you so much again Sonia!
