Master Kong The Mount — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

We booked for 15 people for a work celebration last Thursday night. We pre ordered the banquet with some extra vegetarian options. We arrived at 5.30 and had two tables back to back at the front of the restaurant. We had lovely wait staff who were really efficient and the food and drinks flowed really well.Sometime between 7& 7.30 a women who I assume was a manager asked for everyone to move off one table just as they were bringing out the individual deserts(all part of the banquet) I could not believe how rude and absolutely inconsiderate this was. Can you imagine everyone standing ,huddled eating desert at one table. She said the table was booked. At no time was I told there would be a time limit, especially when all the food had not been served. I understand the need to turn over tables in business, but that was ridiculous especially when we stood outside for 20 minutes talking and no one sat down at the table.We would have ordered more drinks as it was a celebration. I paid the bill and thanked the waitress but I will never bring my business here again.

the follow up to your response. disappointed with the lack of an apology and that you chose to put the blame on us.

we booked 5 days before arrival and at no time were we told there was a 2 hour limit on seating. 2.we informed at time of booking that we required for 4 vegetarian options ( not on the night as you said) so 5 days prior. 3.we arrived at 5.30 and u asked the girls to move at 7pm my math makes that 1hr 30 min ...not 2 hours.which by the way we were not informed about anyway. having organized this night I never asked for a delay in deserts and none of my staff said they asked for a delay. we waited outside for taxis for 20 mins after we paid ( nearly 8.15 pm) no one proceeded to sit at the table we vacated. if your response is to blame your customers so be it, but do not expect our bussiness again or for us to recommend you to our extensive client base . we spent $1200 and would have continued for another hour of cocktails with our 15 staff that you chose not to entertain. disappointed with your response after such a thorough...

This is the second time we have attended a yum cha at Master Kong and the service and food was just as brilliant as it was 18 months ago!

My family (7 of us) dined for my birthday celebration and family who had not experienced MK before were dubious. But the team didn't disappoint!

Our server Roxanne was a ROCK STAR! She was fun, helpful and waited on us like we were VIPs :) What a great vibe and asset she is to MK, she made us feel at home

First off I want to say this seems to be a really cool place. The atmosphere was great a really cool vibe going in and around and I'm sure this will be successful, however my first impression was soured by the staff that we had today. To set the scene I was catching up with some ex hospo mates a group of 4. We show up in 2's and I was in the first pair, within a minute of being sat down we were asked what do we want to drink, I am all for prompt service but I wasn't here for a quick meal I was here for an experience which I soon found to be forcefully rushed on us in a way, just saying it's mid day it's quiet no need for a rush in my mind. As we move on to order food we were ordering our meals and order a main each now, these mains are made in mind to share however we can all handle ourselves I'll just say, now as the slimmest of the group I was the only one told they are meant for sharing however, my two other friends who are larger, were not asked or told if they were still okay with this, seems a bit sizest to me, we all joked about it but I felt uncomfortable at the same time for them. This is not to target the staff or the restaurant but to add a point of view and maybe some consideration, also food was good no problems...
