DFS Queenstown — Attraction in South Island

Extremely disappointed with the service at this store. On my first visit, I asked about several models and sizes, only to be told "no" for every single one. The staff seemed uninterested in helping and barely made an effort. I returned the next day and witnessed a Chinese customer in front of me being offered the exact same sizes I had asked for previously — and was in the process of purchasing them.

It was clear that the staff were prioritizing Chinese guests while ignoring other international visitors. The treatment felt dismissive and unprofessional. If this store is primarily catering to Chinese clientele, that should be made clear, as it’s not representative of the diverse international audience that visits Queenstown.

This was by far the worst retail experience I’ve had in Queenstown. It doesn’t come close to the level of service you'd expect from a duty-free or international shopping destination. The promotion and products is good but customer service extremely bad, we went the Burberry and no one serve us at all in 15mins, the Chineses staff there is just served for those Chinese customer only who she think they will buy, not even at least say hello or welcome to me. I have to look around to find other to help. Later on, there is another Chinese staff come to served and I said lets I think about it and may come back tmr (as they don’t have the new one so it mean I have to take the display one) because the mall about to close in 20 mins but we wanna see products upstairs too then that staff response to me that “if you don’t want it, it’s fine. Today is on promotion who know tmr will be full-price. Other people with take it anyway” ??? What’s kind of service is that? First is not served and let’s customer wait, then later being rude??? My friends and I are from Shanghai China. We walked in the store while traveling in Queenstown.At first we just wanted to have a look around, but Yu Zhang's passionated attitude made us feel like home. After she gave us some detailed introductions of different areas, different brands and points of DFS Queenstown. I remember there were Kensington coat,Burberry's new blue hoodie,Burberry's waterproof jacket,mocler's new down jacket, and jw jacket. Btw Yu Zhang’s mathematical calculation is amazing, she doesn’t even need a calculator, cause she can tell us the membership points and different prices between different items in a few seconds without thinking, we were quite impressed so I guess that’s one of the reasons why we bought so many things from her.
