What a beautiful spot! The flowers were slightly further over than we initially thought when looking for them, but it was worth the search. There was a great big patch of lupins to take photos in and admire the view. Beware of the oyster catchers nesting amongst the flowers as they get a bit upset when you're near their eggs. They soon settle down as you move further away though

Great view of Lake Tekapo, Church of the Good Shepherd, and Collie Dog Memorial within walking distance. Unfortunately, we missed the Lupins were not in bloom as it is winter now.

We just visited on 21st January 2025. It is not the time of lupin field blooming. I researched and read that it blooms between September and mid-December. If you’re expecting to see Lake Tekapo with Lupin flowers view, pls avoid visiting there...
