It's hard to find a more iconic church in the mountains than St. Peter's in Queenstown. It's just off the lake and the downtown and the stone work on the outer facade is picturesque. Inside you'll find about a dozen rows of pews and an unpretentious alter. Be sure to take a look at the organ up front. It's listed on the national historical record as one of the first European pipe organs in NZ and the artistry in the paint detail is not to be missed. Aside from the building, the people of its congregation are the true stars of St. Peter's. They are kind and welcoming and a true example of the Christian spirit.
