I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that can only be described as a hidden gem in the heart of the city. Nestled just 200 meters away from the bustling town, yet cleverly positioned to shield its guests from the noise, this hotel struck the perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility.
Upon arriving, I was immediately taken aback by the stunning classic decor that adorned the hotel's interior. Every detail was carefully curated, creating an ambiance that exuded elegance and charm. From the lobby to the rooms, the tasteful and timeless design provided a visually captivating experience.
Speaking of rooms, I was delighted to find that they were not only spacious but also boasted incredibly comfortable beds. The attention to detail was evident, with plush linens and pillows that ensured a restful night's sleep. It was a joy to retire to my room after a long day of exploring the town.
One of the standout features of this hotel was its easy access even after hours. Whether I was returning late from a night out or had an early departure, the staff made it hassle-free to enter and exit the premises, ensuring convenience without compromising security.
The hotel went above and beyond by offering complimentary happy hour, nibblies and breakfast. This thoughtful touch provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere, allowing guests to socialize and unwind before heading out to explore the town.
Above all, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The perfect location, just a stone's throw away from town yet shielded from noise, made it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding attractions. The spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and classic decor created a truly enchanting experience. The easy access and the complimentary happy hour and breakfast were the icing on the cake.
I can confidently say that I will be returning to this hotel in the future. It has set a new standard for hospitality, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to experience its charms again. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, this hotel is a must-stay destination that will exceed your expectations...
Read moreWe stayed for three nights toward the end of June. Our room was very comfortable (underfloor heating in the bathroom for the win), cosy, and the hotel is perfectly located - a quick stroll through the gardens have you down by the water and the main drag in no time. ||The hotel is split-level, and we were downstairs. Being winter, the lights in the room made it all the more cosy and atmospheric. We slept well, and the amenities in the room were perfect. I appreciated the draught stopper to put against the door, moreso for soundproofing than anything else, the shower pressure was fabulous, and the bath products fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised by the free snacks and mini-bar in the room, along with the fresh, creamy milk, and varieties of teas from which to choose. ||The access to (non-alcoholic) drinks and sweets in the lounge is a lovely touch, as is the happy hour with wine and cheese from 5 - 6pm each evening. The simple continental breakfast was adequate and the offerings were plentiful.||The hotel staff members are all incredibly friendly and hospitable.||Top tip: Parking is limited to 4 spaces in front of the hotel. It costs $20NZD per day to reserve a spot. While we were there in the low-season and could park easily in one of the spots when we arrived, it would be at a premium during busier periods While there is other (paid) parking close-by, it would be worth confirming your car spot in advance when making your reservation to be sure you’re guaranteed it...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is fantastic! Walking distance to city center, without having to hear city center! Unfortunately we arrived after the reception left for the day (they leave at 6p, and no one is onsite) so we had to call a manager to instruct us on how to let ourselves into the hotel and into our room that was unlocked. There was a form left for us to fill out and return to the reception the next day. This process was non traditional and left us questioning our booking decisions. However, we were wrong about that! The staff were very kind and welcoming and helped us with any questions we had when they were in and available. It’s still odd to have no one on site at a hotel. The place was quiet and comfortable for our 6 night stay. I would suggest that the rooms get a daily vacuum with a room tidy, as this did not occur and since we were hiking there was some debris from our shoes left behind. They offer a morning continental breakfast until 10a, it honestly isn’t great and could be skipped for something more delicious in town. They also offer a happy hour every evening with light hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer from 5-6p. It too, is nothing special, but FREE! They have one washer/dryer that is on site (first come first serve) free of charge. I should warn, the washer takes approximately 2hrs for one wash regardless of speed setting… don’t let the 52 min cycle time fool you. Overall we were very comfortable with our stay and...
