Overall I was really impressed with the food and the convenience of being able to order online. I’d highly recommend the large ‘Devil Burger’. Burger was crafted beautifully. The ingredients used were fresh and premium. The burger sauce was amazing. Everything combined together was near perfect. If I am being highly critical, the only thing that I felt let it down slightly was the beef patty being a touch overcooked on the dry side. If the patty spent a little less time on the grill it would have been perfect for me. This may be personal preference and subjective to me but I just felt it would have been better if it was slightly more moist. Also tried the chips and they were pretty good, slightly above average. Spent a little over $25 on the burger and chips, so a little on the expensive side for what you get but I’d say it was worth it. Ideally the large ‘Devil Burger’ and chips would have been $20 total, but no complaints. I came back again and ordered the same on the following day, just because of how much I enjoyed it and how convenient ordering online was (to skip waiting around in queues). The following day I came back, it was consistently just as good as the day before. Burger’s were ready when I arrived in store to collect them and the staff were friendly. Restaurant itself seemed nice from what I observed so I wouldn’t have any problems eating there either. (I can’t compare Devil Burger against Fergburger as I did not...
Read moreIt was December, warm, over flowing with tourists and there was a plethora of dining options in Queenstown. I had - like many others - heard of Ferburger and pondered the possibilities. Then I saw Devil Burger and with my sense of adventure and whimsy rising I threw off any suppressed Sunday School fears and decided to dine with the devil. There is a variety of burgers, wraps, sides and ribs on offer. I went for the Devil's Staircase and chips and even used the online ordering system to make it easy to order and be ready by the time I arrived. The bun was soft yet was strong enough to absorb any juices and sauces so you didn't end up with a watery piece of dough. The bacon and beef were done beautifully. There smokiness were cut by the sharp tang of pineapple that was accompanied by the BBQ sauce and Aioli. I really enjoyed the burger - quite frankly I inhaled that smoky delight. The chips are good, I admit I didn't venture into the more adventurous sides so I really can't comment on them other than that they were well seasoned, fluffy and crunchy - they were chips. So looking for an iconic meal in a surreal place try Devil Burger with cold drink and enjoy...
Read moreAs a world traveler and burger connoisseur, i was challenged earlier today to compare the world famous fernburger to devil burger. Only about 1/2 km apart, it was an easy physical task, but a tough one for my stomach to handle in one day. I decided to basically get each one of their normal signature cheeseburgers with bacon. Simple enough. Fernburger first, and i was starving when i ate it. Good, well cooked patty, good bacon, but nothing really special about it. Hours later still kinda full i went ahead and stopped at devil burger. Patty cooked great, good bacon, the bun was way better (fernburger was over toasted) but the big difference was the sauce and condiments, it really set devil burger apart and so id give fernburger a 7 and devil burger an 8.5. Both places are small, fernburger is tiny and chaotic, and devil burger is less busy. About the same price for each. My recommendation.....skip the long lines and go with...
