I found out about ANCO Studio because of my sister. I browsed their instagram page and I was impressed. I am very particular with my haircuts because I used to have very skilled stylists overseas so they’ve set my standards high 😅

I gave ANCO Studio a try and booked a cut + restyle with their senior stylist Flo.

I arrived an hour early (bcos I was just in the area) but the staff offered me a seat where I can wait. They also asked if I want some drinks which I appreciated a lot.

The whole vibe of the place is very enticing. It gives a “very professional” feel. The music adds up to the sleek ambience.

For the haircut and styling process, I need to say that I was really amazed. Flo was very attentive to my requests. I just watched her cut my hair with so much precision and expertise. It seemed like it was effortless but it showcased her hair cutting/styling skills and years worth of experience. And yet, she is very humble and friendly. I really enjoyed chatting with her while she was cutting my hair.

I also availed the chair massage while having my hair washed. It was such a relaxing experience 😌

I have a thick, long hair which makes it challenging for every hair stylist to achieve the styles I actually want. But with Flo, it seemed so easy and natural. Flo was able to retain the length of my hair (upon my request) and gave me beautiful layers. She also lessened the excess volume of my hair and made it so much better!

The cost of the haircut and restyle wasn’t very cheap but I would say that it’s very much worth every penny. I genuinely believe that ANCO STUDIO deserves all the praises and the all the hype. Because once you enter their salon, it’s quite impossible that you will leave unsatisfied.

Had a full foils done post lockdown and was expecting a blonde transformation, as promised on their website but for some reason, said they cannot make my hair blonde as it was too dark. I needed that hair change post lockdown so continued anyway, not the shade I was aiming for but still pretty. The only thing that disappointed me was when they said full highlights and when I went somewhere to get a haircut they said they only did partial foils to my hair. So I contacted the salon and got it corrected, they said they didn't explain to me properly that I'm not getting full foils, but my booking receipt after my payment showed full foils. They asked me to come over and correct it, made it full foils but only after couple of days when I put my hair up did I notice still some dark roots coming from the back which can only be seen when hair is up. I couldn't be bothered going back and complaining again. It's just a waste of time to be honest.

In response to you Adrian, I did show up for the colour correction. And that was the time when again, part of the back of my hair was not done. When I put my hair up I can exactly see the spots missed. The second appointment, I cancelled and someone called me and confirmed the cancellation. So I did not waste your valuable time and money because I cancelled prior to my second appointment because why would I go back to your place when you can't do full foils properly?

To be honest I wasn’t going to leave a review because I don’t like leaving bad ones, but seeing the other review bellow, I felt I had to say something. It’s really upset me and I don’t want someone else to ruin their hair too.

I booked with Adrian for a half a head of highlights after seeing the reviews but instead received Li. I felt super anxious with this as I didn’t feel heard with what I wanted. I asked for less bleach and to add a natural colour in, but instead she insisted it just be bleach. A lot of it went on, to the point where I got really upset and asked for it to be taken off. She reassured me and said it would be okay. There wasn’t any conversation or small talk, which made me feel even worse. I had to ask myself for a tea halfway in. Adrian finished off my hair with a really nice blow dry and friendly chat. When I got to the till they added on extras for treatments in the product, which they didn’t tell me about to begin with and I’ve also been charged for a blow dry even though it’s supposed to be included with the colour service. The $200 original price came to $380 at the till! My hair looked nice leaving the salon, but not at all what I wanted. Cut two a few days later and I don’t have any hair any more. The bleach has completely ruined it. I’ve had to remove my tapes that I spent a lot of money on and have my already short hair bobbed. To top it all off my hair is now yellow/orange and I’m too afraid to touch it with bleach or even go into another salon.
