A quiet, forested nice park in the loud and busy centre. Thoroughly changed ten years ago by the addition of new lights and statues. It sits opposite of the Parliament building, an interesting building, and on the other side are a few entrances to GTZ, a shopping centre built in the 1980s. I find it sad that many trees were cut down in order to build the statues. Nevertheless, it is still a great park. Opposite of the Parliament building is a statue of Prometheus in a fountain. This one, like almost all others is a new statue from around ten years ago. The statue was originally naked, though, after a controversy, it was reshaped and now wears pants. Behind Prometheus is a large marble arch with a path leading to an eternal fire (which is ironic, because the fire hasn't been burning for years). The path then leads to a tall single column with an angel on top. On the right of the bizarre monument is the monument of the founders of the ASNOM committee. The statue shows people standing around a man delivering a speech. The other side of the Prometheus monument is decorated with a statue similar to the ASNOM monument. This one is dedicated to the founders of IMRO (a political organisation founded in 1893, now a centre right/right wing party). It consists of several men kneeling on the floor looking at a book with a revolver and a knife on it. Then about 20 meters left of that is the statue of Pitu Guli, a local hero, on a horse. Next to it is an older plaque honoring Nevena Georgievska Dunja, a partisan who died in world war II at age 18. Continuing on the left, there is a path leading to an old fountain/monument to child migrants. To the right of the path is a new statue of Pjeter Bogdani, a famous albanian writer from the 17th century. To the left of the path is the also new statue of Kuzman Josifovski Pitu, a partisan. At last there is a statue for the fighters of the 2001 conflict in Macedonia. There is also a statue of Taras Shevchenko and another poet. The trees are big and wonderful. A great park to visit to cool off in summer after shopping or after...

One of my favorite parks located downtown. There is so much history condensed in this little land told by all the statues in it. There is the memorial of the army and pilots that lost their life’s in the war of 2001. One dedicated to all the women and children vanished from their homes in the Aegean Macedonia, today’s Northern Territory of Greece, one of the many genocides done to the Macedonian people. One dedicated to the formation of the first party that rose against the Ottoman Empire on these lands. Individual statues of the president of the small 10 days existence of a Republic formed during the wars against the Ottomans and the young warrior that knew he didn’t have the enough men in his army but still went into battle and died a hero (asked the last 6 men in his army to all kill each other so they don’t die by the enemy’s hand and they did knowing they lost the battle). One of the first meetings of the newly formed government of the freed Macedonian territory. I don’t know what the deal is with the Greek methodology God statue is but it’s there and it looks nice. This park is between the City Trade Center and the Government Building, close to the city hospital and the city fresh market with the public square on the other side of the park which you can also access through the Triumph Gate. It is beautifully green in spring and summer and while it is in the middle of a busy area, it is...

Tall trees and nice shade, relatively well maintained and if you are lucky, you can catch an engaging chess game between pensioners. Has a small fountain that is welcomed on hot days, a nice resting point in the center of the city.

There are two issues: rather small (and sometimes frequented by protesters), and flanked by a shopping mall on one side and a busy street on the other. Not really suitable for a day out, just a green pit stop for high paced living.

Was alternating between a 3 and a 4, but decided for a 4 since given the space there is little they could...

A beautiful small park filled with statues and history. The park pays tribute to the role of women across the rich history of Macedonia. The Woman Warrior Park (Gradski Park) in Skopje, North Macedonia, is a small public park that holds historical and cultural significance. The park is home to a notable monument, known as the “Monument to the Woman Fighter” (Споменик на жената борец), which commemorates the role of women in the anti-fascist struggle during World War II.

A statue per person... It's kind of weird but that's the one of the whole thing of Skopje, but this park especially, my god so many statues. There is a mixture of odd-looking Yugoslav style (which is definitely cooler) and modern style. Downside is those ugly graffiti. Yeah, people do it everywhere but that's the responsibility of the municipality: protect the art and take care of it.
