I always try to take a walking tour when going to a new city mainly so you can get a good commentary on what you are seeing. As my flight arrived mid morning I was happy to see that this company has a ‘just turn up’ tour in the morning and a bookable tour at 3pm (later in the Summer I believe) - which I booked via WhatsApp. I was told that the tour would not go with less than 3 people (which I totally understand) and as in the end I was the only one to turn up I proposed to come back and do the tour the following morning. The guide suggested to go inside the fortress and the Mother Teresa memorial high we not included in the tour so I did this and was good advise.
The following morning I was happy to see that there were 8 of us and our guide Vasco. He was a great guide - I’ve been on so many similar tours where the guide gives out much too much detail and then I lose interest - not so on this tour. We stopped to watch the stuffed local bread being prepared and our guide gave us some to try which was a nice addition to the walk. He also gave us good advice on where and what to eat, location of ATM’s and where to catch the buses for the attractions outside the city.
Overall it was a perfect introduction to the...
Read moreWe had a fabulous tour with Vasko as our tour guide in Skopje today, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we met him, his warmth and friendliness made us feel so welcome. Vasko is incredibly knowledgeable—he seems to know everything about everything, from history to architecture, politics, and even the city's intricate sculptures.
He took us through so many areas of Skopje, sharing fascinating stories and giving us insightful tips along the way. His passion for the city and its history truly brought it to life for us. Vasko was meticulous in making sure we were comfortable, always checking if we could hear him or if we needed anything.
One highlight was when he stopped at a bakery and invited bus for Byreks tasting a personal and authentic touch to the experience. We not only had fun but also learned so much—now we understand and appreciate Skopje in a way we never could have on our own.
Thank you, Vasko, for such a fabulous tour and for leaving such a great impression. I highly recommend his tours to anyone...
