We booked the inka trail end of august for end of octobre on their website. Just after our pre payment went through, we had an email from the company informing us that the dates we selected on their website ( and were indeed available at time of booking) were indeed not anymore on the side od the government) After some emails exchanges we were told to wait, or to book the short inka trail or another option… kinda stressful if you know they have your money but you don’t know if you will be able to get what you (pre) booked. Weeks went by and I had to call the company (as I did not get reply on my mails) and from there exchanged a lot via WhatsApp. We ended up getting the tickets to the trail but would know only the night before, which was a source of stress. (All parties involved for sure)
In short Pros: Made the trail happen for us at last Amazing Team & guide (during the trek) who Shared their Knowledge with us and cooked amazing meals The trek itself was amazing but that’s thanks to Mother Nature
Cons : Some misunderstanding while texting due to language barrier Did not feel very well taken care of at the beginning (I had to send several emails sometimes in order to get a reply) Lack of transparency about the booking process (tickets available on their website but indeed were not?!) Felt they wanted to make most of money (not willing to give a small discount as a gesture, not even on the sleeping bag, after all of this. The exchange rate dollar to soles was not exact.) Rest due of paiement has to be made in cash, kinda a hassle to get the huge amount out of the ATMs in Cusco We did not sign any paper
I would have appreciated at least a gesture or an apology. They have to review the booking process, as it is indeed a source of stress, of both, the client and the company, not to know which or whether the trail will take place until the day before departure. And for the company to look out for tickets.
The reason why we would not get a gesture was given that the group is indeed small. Well, what can we do about that. ;)
Advice guys : book even more in advance, maybe check first by calling / texting the company if there is really availability. I hope they will improve their booking...

An Unforgettable 4 Days and 3 Nights on the Inca Trail Hike the Inca Trail with Peru Treks is an extraordinary experience. From the moment we booked, the Peru Treks Team coordinator, Darwin demonstrated professionalism, enthusiasm, and extreme attention to detail that set the tone for the entire trip. Our guide, Juan, was not only knowledgeable and passionate about Inca history and culture, but also very patient and encouraging. He brought each archaeological site to life with stories and context, helping us appreciate every step of the sacred path to Machu Picchu. The porters were heroes - efficient, friendly, and inspiring. They carried our gear with amazing strength, always had camp set up before we arrived, and their warm smiles and welcoming reception were the icing on the cake. The chef prepared fresh and nutritious meals that were even more delicious than we could have imagined. From the quinoa soup to the hearty rice and meat entrees, every dish was delicious and satisfying. On the third night, our wonderful chef surprised us by baking a cake using only a rice cooker to celebrate our unforgettable Inca Trail adventure. The hike itself was breathtaking. Every day brought new views, from cloud forests to towering mountain passes, with stunning panoramas that seemed like a dream. Peru Treks ensured our safety and comfort throughout the trip, providing clean drinking water, sleeping bags, and tents. On the fourth day we arrived at the Sun Gate at sunrise, watching Machu Picchu slowly emerge from the mist. It was a spiritual moment that I will never forget - Peru Treks made...
Read moreI recently took a 4 day 3 night Inca hike of Machu Picchu with Peru Treks, and I have to say, it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the tour company exceeded my expectations in every way possible.
First and foremost, the hot meals were a highlight of the trip. Not only were they delicious and nutritious, but they were also served promptly and with a smile. And as if that wasn't enough, the unexpected afternoon teas were a lovely touch that really made us feel pampered and cared for.
Our guide, Juan Carlos, was a real standout as well. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the hiking route, the local flora and fauna, and the fascinating history of the Inca civilization. He went out of his way to answer our questions and make us feel at ease, and his friendly demeanor made the trip all the more enjoyable.
I also have to give a shout-out to the porters who carried our belongings for us throughout the trek. They were true unsung heroes, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that we had everything we needed to make the hike as comfortable as possible.
Finally, I really appreciated the pre-briefing and post-briefing that Peru Treks provided. The pre-briefing gave us a clear idea of what to expect on the hike, while the post-briefing allowed us to reflect on our experience and share our feedback with the company.
All in all, I would highly recommend Peru Treks to anyone looking for a top-notch Inca hiking experience. The company's attention to detail, knowledgeable guides, and overall commitment to customer satisfaction make them a cut above the rest. Thank you, Peru Treks, for an...
