I've been to Boracay three times and have visited this humble community on two occasions. This is the home of the Ati people who were natives to the island.
There is a small museum inside telling their story. It's not hard to suspect that a grave injustice was done here. The Atis were forced from their lands and have received only a tiny slice of the island by the government. And even that slice is currently being threatened.

Read moreWe had a lovely visit to the village where we were greeted by the tribe who were all very welcoming, then a lovely lady showed us around and we saw the museum, which was very interesting and there was lots of stuff to read and learn about and she was very happy answering any questions, her English was also great, we got to see the church and even the school as it was empty at that time, everyone was smiling and saying hello and it was fascinating being able to see it all and learn more, we are so glad we went it was a lovely trip to explore more than just the beaches here on...
