Abozza Resort — Hotel in Malay

Positives||Great location, across the road from Station X mall (they have an amazing pool there that you can use for 1200PHP for 2 people - this includes a 1000PHP food and beverage credit), many restaurants on the street in front and leading to the beach, easy walk to the beach in under 10 minutes, easy to get a motorbike/tuk-tuk out the front. ||Rooms were very clean, but they will not clean them each day unless you ask them to. The room size was good, we were able to fit a travel cot easily. Most staff were friendly enough, they were very kind to our inquisitive toddler. ||We booked transfers through the hotel and they were pretty seamless and easy (great after getting off a delayed flight with a grumpy two-year-old).||||Not so positives||There is a lot of construction going on in the area, there were several mornings where the jackhammering started at 7 am, to the hotel's credit, they spoke to the building site and were able to get them to hold off at least until 8 most days. Wifi is pretty crappy, even with the dongle thing they give you (runs out of battery quickly, can't get a signal most of the time). Get your own SIM card at the airport (we got ours in Manila while waiting for a transfer). The 2GB of just data from SMART was a good deal, they don't advertise it though, you have to ask them).||The air conditioners are really loud and will blow directly on your bed depending what room you are in, you either roast with them off or freeze with them on. Putting a towel over the air con vent seemed to help a little bit. The air conditioning system could do...

Compared to its cheap price per night, the hotel was a gem. Stayed there for 7 nights for a work trip; we had to find rooms for ourselves due to issues with the main hotel our company originally booked with.

It takes about 8 minutes to get to the beach of station 2, less if youre a fast walker. It's in front of Station X and had a 7'11 directly below it so you have access to food and other essentials. Walkable to D'mall as well if you dont want to take the e-tryke

Room was averaged size and relatively clean; found some dirt on the floor but staff readily took action when i pointed out my concerns. Importantly, the toilet was clean and smelled good. AC ran well and didnt smell musty. There was a smart tv with some cable chanels. Wifi was excellent except for 1 day when connection became intermittent after the power went out.

A kettle and a mini fridge were provided too, together with a closet and hangers. Beddings were crumpled but smelled fresh and clean.

Staff were warm, attentive, and helpful. They even managed to heat up some leftovers i had.

Only downside was that it didnt have an elevator so if you have problems with your knees, just stay on the 2nd floor. Also, the walls are relatively thin so you can hear things from the hallway now and then but it wasnt terrible.

All in all, for what we paid, we had a really good stay for the week we were...

Positive: Great location to the beach. Its just a 5 minute walk to the beach. Also there is a convenient store right across the street that's open 24 hours. That's it for the positives. ||||Negatives: the staff was friendly, that was until we had some complaints. We had issues with the room like ants on the bed and other issues that made our stay uncomfortable. I don't have enough time to describe them all. Granted they did try to fix them but to no avail. We were not offered any other options as far as changing our rooms either. I usually don't give bad reviews but in this instance I feel it was necessary because we felt cheated out of our money for staying here when there are so many other better places to stay. Lets not even talk about the non existant wifi. Its the worst. There are no amenities such as a pool or breakfast. I CANNOT recommend this hotel to anyone, not even...
