If you’re looking for a culinary gem that defies expectations and delivers an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than this extraordinary restaurant. Walking in without any preconceived notions, I was greeted with what can only be described as a culinary revelation.
Under Polish standards, the food was nothing short of spectacular—but let me emphasize, this wasn’t just “spectacular for Poland.” By any global culinary standard, the dishes served here were truly world-class. Having lived in Poland for five years and experienced countless restaurants, I can confidently say this establishment is one of the two best I have ever had the pleasure of dining in.
Every single detail of the meal was flawless. The textures were meticulously balanced, the cooking times were precise, and the flavors were perfectly harmonious. Each dish was a masterpiece in its presentation, crafted with such care that it was almost too beautiful to eat—almost. Once tasted, every bite was a testament to the skill and passion behind this kitchen.
The atmosphere complemented the experience perfectly: a warm, inviting space where every corner seemed to echo the attention to detail of the food itself. It was the kind of ambiance that wraps around you, making you want to linger and savor every moment.
The highlight of the evening? Meeting the chef. After such an extraordinary meal, I couldn’t resist asking to meet the artist behind the cuisine. Imagine my astonishment when I was greeted by someone so incredibly young—barely 20 or 21 years old—yet with a mastery of flavor and technique that seasoned chefs spend decades chasing. It was humbling and inspiring to witness such talent in someone so early in their career.
I’m only sad that I did not ask the name of the chef. I’m pretty sure that his name will be known in the...
Read moreI had heard good things about this place, so decided to give it a try. At first, I thought they were having a bad day. After waiting for 45 minutes, we received the Weranda Special which was meant to be a hot meal, but the sausage and eggs were ice cold and the butter unspreadable. The other ingredients on the plate were nothing impressive for the cost of 30zl per dish.
I noticed other patrons were also not very impressed by their meals, most just ordering sweets and drinks, which from what I understand was the original offer by Weranda before they expanded into full breakfast dishes, but I could be wrong. The staff was very nice, but seemed stressed, so we felt the need to be polite when we returned our food to the kitchen. I've worked in the industry for years, so I understand the pressure our service folks can be under. We thought to reorder something simple, but decided to cut our losses after realizing this place might be a well-dressed tourist trap after noticing all the red flags... from the stressed staff, high prices (cocktails should never be the same cost as the food, as a standard) to the unhappiness of the patrons that arrived before us.
Thinking they were just having a bad day, we thought we could give them another chance, and was hoping they would at least comp my French 75 and my partner's fruit water, but when that didn't happen, I decided that this place is not worth the effort or the cost.
I recommend Weranda stick to sweets and drinks, and maybe introduce a smaller, more basic breakfast menu. I recommend to anyone reading this review to avoid this place until they can provide their customers with a comfortable, tasteful and...
Read moreWe decided to eat breakfast at Weranda on Wednesday. I chose this place since I've been there before and really like this place- lovely decorations and furniture. We came just at 10 o clock so we were first and only customers (2). We waited about 25 min for scrambled eggs with bacon. During that time we heard microwave being used three times - defrosting bacon? We got served not much scrambled eggs with some bacon on side. Since there were other items on the plate, like a jar with some salat, small plate with some butter and a napkin, our eggs was served literally on a napkin... Coffe from a Coffe machine was good. We could hear Beyoncé hits all time long we were there. We also had to pay at the counter since no one paid attention to us. It's not first time I was unpleasantly surprised at this place last years. Better service and serving hygiene is what I recommend and in the meantime I will try to find some other places to eat...
