Much more worth than the price. Like a dream for budget tourists. It costed 50 euros per night for double room with shared toilet and breakfast. The hostel has a neat and spacious kitchen for guests and also bar and restaurant. You can choose between self cooking and eating in its facilities. It is very important to have plural options for eating inside the hostels as there are so many rainy days in winter in Sintra. The nearby restaurants set elevated tourist prices except for Tasca do Manel just some 10 meters up on the hill. We recommend to hit on hidden restaurants north of the sintra rail way station such as metamorphosis and o túnel. As for long staying tourists there is a coin laundry within 10 minutes walk.

Pros: Good design Comfy beds, pillows, and linens (this alone is worth staying here for!!) On suite bath in my dorm Good location, close to train station and sites Polite staff On-site restaurant with is more of a burger joint was good and not insanely overpriced like most places in Sintra. Cons: Wifi was iffy at best in courtyard and worked but not the best in dorm Wasn't the most social, but not their fault Common baths not the cleanest Breakfast was almost impossible to get more than a 1/3rd cup of coffee (coffee dispenser needs to be replaced) Overall good value. I would definitely stay there again!

1. They should’ve vacuumed the room, the locker, and the bed. There’s crumbs all over. Not cool for a hostel that costs 20 a night. 2. No towels included for that price is a crime. 3. No locks on the shared showers, so no privacy. 4. Cleaning sheet last signed in November, six months ago. 5. No soap in the toilets / bathrooms. That means everyone’s walking all over the hostel with germs on their hands. 6. The beds are so close together they’re literally touching. You get to sleep with someone’s feet 20cm from your head. Disgusting.

I arrived at the hotel around 10:45 AM with an injury. Fortunately, the receptionist was incredibly kind and quickly assisted me with first aid, which I greatly appreciated.

Afterward, I settled into the reception area as I couldn’t manage the stairs to my room on the third floor, where I had been assigned a top bunk.

By around 3 AM, I felt ready to lie down. I mustered the strength to climb the three flights of stairs to my room, only to discover that my key card had stopped working. Locked out on the patio, I had to wake the receptionist again for assistance.

Things were manageable until I entered my room and turned on the lights to climb into the top bunk while talking quietly with my mom appraising her of my situation. I made sure to speak extremely softly in order to not disturb the room mates. The roommates began making a commotion and insisting on complete silence. After I finished my call, they complained about my bedside light and the notifications on my phone, even threatening to ask for a refund from the hotel because of a previous late-night call I made.

Feeling harassed, I tried to keep the peace by silencing my phone, but one of the girls still called the receptionist. He suggested I move to the living room due to the disturbances and told me I couldn’t use my phone until 8 AM (nowhere in the rules does it say that). This felt unjust, especially since I was already struggling with my injury.

I expressed my discomfort, feeling that I was being unfairly bullied. I sensed underlying racism and Islamophobia in their actions. Additionally, I noticed they were smoking in a non-smoking room and tampering with the air conditioning.

When I explained my situation, the receptionist dismissed my concerns, saying it was three against one. I couldn’t understand why I was being treated this way, particularly when I was having difficulty navigating the space due to my injuries.

Overall, my experience was extremely traumatic. I am going to leave feeling unheard and unsupported during a...

All good things to say about this property: a 3 block walk from the train station! || This is a must since Sintra can be a very hilly place to stay. A flat, 10 minute walk to the historic center of Sintra/National Palace.||||Rented a private room that included private bath + all linens. Amazing views (of either the National Palace, Pena Palace and/or the Moorish Castle, all high in the hills) with windows that opened for fresh air but were also sound proof w/ thick curtains for the light. The mattresses were seriously the MOST COMFORTABLE throughout my stay in Portugal! Room was as large as hotel rooms I stayed in throughout the country also + bathroom had a spacious shower!||||A lot of space to lounge e.g. outdoor courtyard, inside, or at the on-site restaurant. Private rooms are in separate wing (as is the dorm) w/ ~5 other rooms so be prepared for the doors slamming, but no excessive noise thankfully and it was quiet at night. ||||Staff was so friendly and helpful with local information! Sometimes you go to a place where they cannot make recommendations. We left our bags @ the hostel before catching the train, and they were locked in a secure area unlike some hostels. This was the best deal and will...
