There's no question staying at Railay Beach Club is a fantastic experience. We stayed in villa 20 with a family of 9 plus baby. Staying 6 nights in total we enjoyed the tranquillity, more rustic charm and laid back beach lifestyle.||Our villa (#20) was at the back of the property close to the soaring limestone cliffs and surrounded by the jungle. If you love seeing wildlife in their natural habitat you will love this place. We woke up to gibbons calling, watched dusky leaf monkeys eat and play in the trees around us, monitor lizards digging for bugs and plenty of crab eating macaques as you walk along the street outside the property. If you're lucky you may even see a gibbon high in the tree tops as we did. A very special moment.||I highly recommend booking the private chefs for dinner at least one evening. The food was fantastic and flavoursome.||The manager Patt was wonderful. She is so friendly and helpful. She also makes the best passionfruit margarita. A big thank you to all the staff at Railay Beach Club, you made the stay comfortable.||Some have complained about the longtails but there isn't much you can do about it. Just focus on the beautiful sounds of nature and the ocean and bring noise cancelling ear plugs if you're sensitive to noise. This is not the accommodation's fault but the effect of tourism and locals needing to make a living.||The bigger concern is the marine noise and pollution from the boats. The beach would be much nicer to swim at but the longtails do spoil the experience somewhat. I also feel bad for the marine life which has no doubt left the area due to the above. The water becomes murky, choppy waves and there's a layer of oil on it when swimming, and some rubbish. However a nice 15 minute walk to Pranang Beach and you are rewarded with clear, calm water and no longtails.||The walking street is very close by and plenty of options to eat at of reasonable quality and price. The breakfast provided by the accommodation is great.||I do have a complaint about the check in process. We were brought to the villa directly from the boat and had no one to welcome us or explain things. After a long day of travel this was a bit frustrating. It was also later in the day and some of our party became very lost in the evening because we had no idea where things were. It perhaps would have been better to meet Patt at the office first but I understand this is a time-share so usual check in procedures don't apply.||My biggest tip is bring good quality mosquito repellent - if you are prone to mosquitos you will be attacked. The villa had plenty of mosquito coils and a bug zapper but load up on the repellent and bring an itch cream, you'll need them! A small price to pay for being in the middle of a jungle. Also, try and keep food properly sealed in containers or in the fridge as there was a mouse inside the common area...
Read moreFeels like your own home on the beach||Railai Beach is a fabulous place to visit and getting really busy again post covid, however you step through the gates of the Beach Club, with the houses surrounded by the shelter of the incredible rocks and amazing trees and plants you enter this special little piece of paradise. You wake to sound of the ocean , the gibbons calling each other in the trees and can easily spend the day either watching the hornbills or the funny little dusky langur monkeys playing in the trees.||I stayed in Baan Jay 7 GW and it was like having your own little house on the beach front . I only stayed a few days but would be perfect for a long term stay as you have your own kitchen, living area downstairs and upstairs an amazing bedroom with terrace to sit and chill . As I work when I travel having this space and the quiet was perfect. I could cook for myself or grab a take out from the multiple restaurants 2 mins walk away or a real treat is the Beach Clubs chef who will come and cook for you in your house. ||At 5 pm the Beach Club bar opens for sunset where you can have an amazing cocktail and meet all of the other people lucky enough to stay here and watch the perfect sunset. ||I will be going back again and again and recommend this place for anyone who wants to be close to everything but is looking for a something...
Read moreThe Railay Beach Club was a wonderful place to stay. Everyone was very hospitable. It’s not a hotel per se but a time share functioning similarly to a bed and breakfast. There weren’t many guests on the premises it was mostly occupied by the owners who are very very kind. Our house owner, young, was particularly lovely and fed us incredible meals a couple of times. The house we were staying in was very beautiful. Quality of the bedding and all of the furnishings were inspired. If you stay I hope you get a massage with Ta. She’s incredible and so intuitive. I adored her and will come back to Railay for her massage. Patt and the rest of the staff were really amazing also. So efficient.
The only thing to warn about, which the staff and everyone are very much aware of and don’t try to hide; at 11c (the more affordable house) you are right bumped up against the walking street. By the 3rd day I was ready to go; listening to the same 8 bob marley covers so loud they were inside our room . You’re also uncomfortably close to the public toilet which gives off a smell that woke me up a couple of times (it’s intermittent). Regardless of that I would do it again but maybe stay 3 nights instead of 4. The amazing aspects overshadowed the bob marley covers. And it’s nice and quiet in the...
