samonsi pad thai — Restaurant in Krabi Province

We had our dinner here last night.. and are still waiting for the punch line. I ordered the pad Thai and the seafood curry and when it came, I wasn’t sure if someone had already eaten half the food. The pad Thai noodles were semi cooked but the sauce wasn’t bad tasting. The curry was a joke. They literally had 2 pieces of tiny shrimp and a smattering of gravy. If you had blinked you would have thought you were served plain rice with a dash of gravy. I was about to flip the table but my gf told me to stay calm. After eating this so-called food, we then went out and grabbed a cheeseburger to appease our hunger (and anger). Very hungry, I stopped at Samonsi because it looked nice, and I thought maybe there would be a toilet, as a lot of cafes in the street didn't seem to have any, but it was not the case. The ladies working there were very nice. I ordered a mango-dragon fruit-pineapple shake and a tomato-onion roti to start with. Serving time was reasonable considering how busy the place was. I was so disappointed. Both the skake and roti were tasteless. Maybe I should have ordered the roti with cheese (extra cost), my mistake. But how can a shake made of fresh fruits have so little taste, I wonder. AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISONING - waited outside for 45 mins for our food and when we finally got a table in they brought our food over straight away which was completely cold (obviously had waited until we had a table even though we said could take away if no tables were free). asked them to heat it up and they heated the chicken wrap in the foil so only the foil was warm and chicken was still cold (would’ve given us food poisoning if we’d eaten that as chicken wasn’t heated through). the calamari was so rubbery my teeth wouldn’t even go through the squid. we sent it back and said to forget it and we’d pay just for the guava smoothie (which was disgusting too) and left (they expected us to pay for it...
