The hotel is located in remote beach. Plenty of nature, quite private beach and less crowds are waiting for you. Local people were very friendly and almost everyone understand simple English. The service is good and I can’t complain much but i would like to share some tips to prepare your self before going to stay in this hotel
🦟🦟🦟 These are LOTS OF mosquitoes both inside and outside of the hotel. Bring mosquito spray, cream etc
🪳🪰🕷️🐜🦗 The hotel has amazing atmosphere with many tropical plants to make you feel holiday mood. The hotel staff/ gardeners take care of these plants almost everyday Because of these wonderful gardens and nature, it is impossible to avoid insects and animals.
🥥🍑🥭🍉 They provide hotel buffet breakfast. I enjoyed tropical fruits, Thai soup and coffee every morning. The foods didn’t use pork. The hotel is relatively small. I wish I could have more local cuisines if I could.
🏊🏼🚣♀️🧗🏼♀️ The hotel website says there are activities such as yoga, kayak etc but non of them were available there is a kayak rental service near the hotel and it’s affordable (B200 for one hour). There is a shop to arrange rock climbing and island hopping etc.
🚤🏝️🚤🏝️ You are able to access to this hotel by a boat You are able to take a boat from Au Num Mao to Railay. Railay has 2 piers, Railay west is smaller and floating pier east Railay is bigger. You’ll get to floating pier east Railay if you take a long tail boat. See the pictures for more details!! I highly recommend to get the hotel transport service if you have suitcase(s), kids
You need to be careful about the boat service from Au Num Mao to Railay. It should costs B100 per person but you need to have more than 8 passengers to leave a pier. You are able to rent entire boat which B800 if you don’t want to wait.
You may need to wear swimwear to get into a boat from Railay west pier because there is no “pier” and you need to walk in the water
🛏️🛏️🛏️ The bed and pillows are relatively hard. They provided 2 type of pillow with different softness.

I stayed a room with swimming pool. Individual villa has 2 rooms, one room on 1st floor and 2nd floor. 2 villas are connected with a door which is able to lock from each side. Would be good if you stay here with family. I decided this hotel because it seems the room has a good privacy but I heard our neighbour chatting, laughing and even making up 😅
⛰️🏨🧼🧺🧴🧻🪥🧼🛀🏻🧽🪒🚰🛁 The hotel provided umbrellas, beach flip flops, room wears, bathrobes, a safe, hand soap, body soap, shampoo, beach bag and complementary 2 bottles of water.
You can get basic medicines such as Panadol, motion sickness meds, plaster (bandaid) etc from the shop near by (3min walk from the hotel).
🌱🌿🌱 There are few places serve marijuana near the hotel and you can smell marijuana when you walk around the Railay beach and town.
🧳🧳🧳 These are things that I highly recommend to bring when you stay at this hotel
Mosquito repellent item There are lots of mosquitos!! You can buy local mosquito repellent spray from local shop
Waterproof smart phone pouch You can buy a pouch from a local shop and it costs B100-150. You might be able to get something affordable if you get one outside of krabi
Waterproof footwear Streets in krabi are uneven, sandy, rocky and wet. You’ll need to walk on the beach or in the water if you take a walk on the beach. Sport sandal types would be suitable to walk around in krabi.
Casual dress It’s a beach resort. Everyone dressed casual. Nobody overdress or wear heels. Wear something casual and easy to move around.
Backpack or sport bag Of course you can bring suitcase but you’ll need to hold and carry around in Krabi because you’ll need to walk on beach and uneven ground. I went there with my small suitcase and I didn’t have an issue holding and carrying around because it wasn’t too heavy.
Baby carrier rather than baby stroller If you have a toddler or baby, a...
Read moreComing from a current hotel manager, DO NOT STAY HERE. Stay at the Railay Bay Resort & Spa which is a similar name but a newer hotel just right next door where we left and stayed the remainder of our week and had a perfect experience there.
Traveled around Thailand for 2 weeks right before Christmas and I can truly say this was our only bad experience, and very horrible at that. We arrived late in the evening, our room was so far that we had to have the bellman drive us. Right when we walked into the villa there was a really bad sewage smell since the sewage drains run right by the villas. I started setting our bags down noticing that there are barely any lights in the room and the room was very old, then my gf walked into the bathroom and literally screams, the bathrooms are covered with mold and mildew, broken ugly green tiles, and everything was completly dirty. They literally looked WORSE than a public bathroom you would find at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. In addition the hot tub outside was also super moldy and was completely dirty.
I first assumed it was just a random room that needed maintenance so I called the office and asked to switch rooms. The front desk agent told us that there were no more rooms and all they had was a suite but that they could not change us to one unless we paid MORE. I then talked to the manager, a male Asian who should definitely not be in hotel management as he has completely failed his hotel and guests the way he treats people. He as well said there were no other rooms to switch to as well and that the smell was just the air conditioning from being off (a lie), and that we were just "being picky and need to lower our standards" which when I pay $1,200 USD in Thailand, that is a TON of money and I expect a clean hotel room at the least. Eventually he suddenly said they can change our room after telling us there were no other rooms to switch to prior.
We moved to the next room which the smell was no longer an issue but still had the horrible lighting, aged room, dirty moldy bathroom, and same gross hot tub outside. That's when I told the manager that this is unacceptable and to either give us a clean room or cancel our reservation. At first he said we cannot cancel until I went to the front desk and continued to ask for a clean room or to cancel. Only then did the manager say we can cancel and that we need to leave right away. Luckily the Railay Bay Resort & Spa a similarly named hotel had 1 last room available and we were able to book it. Omg such a perfect stay at the new hotel - same price, wonderful staff, clean beautiful room with large glass windows, a gorgeous hot tub located inside the room and a pristine bathroom. We literally thanked the staff so much because our ending to our trip was almost completely ruined.
The Railey Village resort should not be 4 stars, and needs new management as a hotel on the beach should not have these unfortunate issues. Also the rooms in person do NOT look like the pictures on their website - false...
Read moreWith more care and fine tuning, this has the potential to be an amazing hotel, however it lacks serious care and attention to detail. If you can get over the long list of niggles, you could probably enjoy this hotel. We have just returned from a 5-night stay and this was our experience and honest review:||Pro’s:|Fantastic location on the beach, steps away from walking street, bars and restaurants, lovely garden grounds surrounding accommodation, 2 pools, the largest is beautiful and peaceful surrounded by trees and wild life.|The room was spacious with appropriate amenities, fridge, good WIFI and effective air con etc, bottled water given daily.|Hotel transfers to and from resort by their own private boat and taxis were faultless and worth the extra money.|Reception staff were friendly and helpful.||Con’s:|This resort does not sell alcohol, however, can be purchased from nearby bar and minimart and drunk on premises, however it’s a shame as it has a prime placed terrace with tables on the edge of the beach.|There are not enough sunbeds for guests, for the 28 condos hosting at least 2 people each around the main pool, only 16 sunbeds were available.|Breakfast was at best average and lacked daily basics such as bananas, supplies were not replenished quickly and I needed to ask for things like yoghurt when the bowls were empty.|Lacked attention to detail, such as a lot of the crockery was chipped.|Most of the staff were not Thai people and did not speak English, they came across as ignorant and not friendly when asked to replenish breakfast items.|The rooms are tired and in need of TLC, not cleaned well, splash marks everywhere, poor lighting and only 4 hangers provided for 2 people.|You are only given one key which activates the air conditioning, therefore it cannot be left on when you are out of the room.|Whist the bed was enormous (2 large singles pushed to together) and comfy, the pillows were not and rock hard.|Maid/room service was very poor, if they turned up at all it was 4pm and too late in the day, we were constantly chasing staff for more toilet rolls and towels. If they came in, they only made the bed and left water and sometimes loo roll, nothing else. The bathroom was not cleaned, towels were not replaced, tea/coffee supplies not replenished and used cups not changed. We were not offered clean pool or bath towels at all during our 5-night stay. Plenty of service staff were seen, however also observed to spend a lot of time chatting with each other and on their phones, I would have no issue with this if they were providing a...
