23 years ago I was a frequent patron at Long Street. My friends and I knew the workers etc. Life changes and well I brought my kids to this pool and they enjoyed themselves, however the aesthetics of the pool area has since deteriorated so much. The saddest part is that the potential is there. I still have a huge love for this place, however let's start caring for all our public spaces. I am a patron and I'd love for others to admire what we have. For me, get greener, plants, change the bleenches to a neutral colour or upgrade it. Pros.. Lifeguards who are very visible and attentive. Small backyard for some sun bathing. All year round swimming. Cons have been listed above and in other posts as well. Swimming in undies to be alleviated, no matter who, kids or adults and babies to swim with proper swimming attire. Price is steep if you looking to just do cardio, best would be to find out about seasonal passes or...
Read moreVery disappointed at the maintainence if Long St Baths. The website showed false information of a Turkish bath, sauna and steam rooms. None of these are functional. The interior building is completely neglected with tiles peeling off the walls. Mould, cracks and bad roofing. The locker rooms are so neglected. The lockers itself were damaged in the female section. All bent as if vandals were trying to get into people's lockers. The pool was definitely the highlight as it has been upgraded. The temp of water was 21 as the pump was not working due to continuous load shedding. So there was no hot pool. Thank God I did not take my foreign visitors to this place as I wud have been extremely embarrassed. The Manager was very apologetic about our experience. The staff were very friendly and felt embarrassed for our bad experience. I suggest you please update your websites to what the reality of the Long St...

Besides the fact that the the facilities could do with a make-over and some investment, it seems like none cares to even do the most basic maintenance work that would just require some good will and a bit of initiative, not money.
The water this morning was so cloudy that one could not see the bottom. The showers have been turned off for months, since the peak of the water crisis in 2017, and they have never been turned back on. This means that, if you wanna go swim before work, you will stink of chlorine the whole day... :( And with the water so cloudy, I even wonder whether it is hygienic to swim in there and not being able to rinse off afterwards.
It is very sad to see such a precious public resource going...
