Amazing rooms and facilities - garbage service.

This basically sums up my experience in my March 2025 stay at the Grand Hyatt Jeju, definitely off peak season. The hotel was like a ghost town, barely any guests, and the level 4 mall was eerily quiet.

The rooms and facilities are amazing. We were upgraded to a suite room (thanks to Guest of Honor status) and it was a beautiful room, absolutely massive, and extremely modern. The only issue was that one of the blinds was broken, but we did get the hotel engineer to fix it. The bed was very comfortable and the room has good tech too.

The outdoor pools are amazing, it's basically an onsen, and much appreciated as the weather was quite cold. There's also a jjimjibang on site, although it's very small and not very authentic, it's still really nice. 7-11 also is also in the building.

So that's all great, but the negative is that this hotel truly had the most garbage service I've ever received at a luxury western hotel brand.

From the very start, when we arrived at the hotel, having rented a car like many other Jeju tourists, the doormen rudely waved us off when they figured out we weren't a taxi. Like, all I want is for them to take my luggage like a normal 5* hotel, I'm happy to park the car myself. When leaving the carpark you also need to call someone on the intercom, really annoying and it always takes them like 5 minutes to validate you.

When we made it to the lobby, they bluntly told us we couldn't check in there, and to go to the club lounge level to check in. Again, no offer to take luggage.

The staff at the club lounge itself were fine, and did their best. Later on, I called down from the room to inquire about something. First, I was put on hold (never had that happen within the hotel before), and then when someone did pick up, they told me they couldn't speak English, and if I could speak Chinese instead please - luckily, I can, but I find that so strange for a western hotel.

The hotel is also playing games with Globalist perks, they provide breakfast at the lounge, this technically satisfies the Globalist breakfast perk, but the breakfast at the club lounge is extremely limited and far inferior to the "real" breakfast. There are like 6 or 7 dishes total. This is extremely lame and I hate hotels which penny pinch like this, it reflects poorly on Hyatt's loyalty program.

Conversely, cocktail hour at the lounge was actually awesome, there were a lot of really tasty finger foods, like Chinese Pork Belly (Dongpo Rou), and a good selection of self service spirits and liquors.

So overall, if they could fix the service, especially to western guests, this could be an outstanding hotel, as the facilities are really good. As it is, it feels like such a missed...

Please do not place your luggage on the floor as water drips from the ceiling of Corner suite. My luggage was wet. When you sit at the dining room table, water drops fall over your head.

If you sit on a chair in the shower, it creaks and collapses. Don't sit down because the joint was cracked and it was scary and dangerous. Besides, the water pressure in the shower was really, really, really low, so it took too long to take a shower. The water doesn't drain out because the flooring was done wrong. I have to work hard to push the water I showered with the soles of my feet. It was very inconvenient and very disappointing as the water did not drain and stagnated. There was even a slight hoarse smell from the towels.

The cleanliness was poor, and there were stains on the table, glass, and toilet. Being in a hotel room like this was the worst of my life. I payed 900 dollors for a night at a room like this. If I were a hotel owner, I wouldn't take this money.

I talked to the manager about all of this, but there was no special action of response. He suggested to move to another room but we didn't want to stay in this hotel anymore, so we checked out as soon as possible and moved to another hotel.

If I were the manager, I would have sincerely apologized but, He didn't even say goodbye when we left.

And when he entered to the room, he came in wearing the shoes which he wore outside, so I was very surprised at this sensitive time due to the corona virus 19. Nowadays, it is standard for hotels to take off their shoes when entering to guest rooms.

Again, I realized that tradition and system is so important for hotels. If you go to a newly built grand Hyatt hotel, you would regret it.

The interior is Chinese style. All information and explanations are given in Chinese first, followed by English and Korean last. I felt like I was on a trip to China. Maybe the Chinese are the owners, or the hotel made for the Chinese.

The materials are cheap and the finish is poor, If you want luxurious and accurate service, please go to another traditional and well-equipped hotel. This hotel was recently built, so the system is not working at all!! It's a cheaply built new hotel.

Customers who prefer genuine high-end service can be stressed out. This hotel...

Grand Hyatt Jeju offers a luxurious stay with impressive facilities, including a vast indoor pool, two jacuzzis, a spacious gym, and multiple dining options. ||||My room was big and spacious, featuring high ceilings, a sofa, dining and coffee table, a comfortable super/ king-sized bed, and panoramic views. I could see the sun rise, mountains, and the city view. ||The bathroom had a shower room, bathtub, and 2 sinks. The toilet was in a separate room.||Be mindful that they will charge you for the use of their dental kit. It is not immediately obvious that it is not complimentary as the note was left in the bar area.||The towels provided had a strong bleach smell, which was overpowering and not very soft and fluffy.||Bathrobe and slippers are provided.||Please note, apart from the dining chairs, all the other furniture is nailed down onto the floor. It was not a major problem, but it was something I hadn't encountered before.||The lobby is also very grand looking. It is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at.||||It's about 5-10 mins drive from Jeju Airport, and there are quite a few convenience stores nearby, even a 7eleven that is opened all day inside the hotel.||There are a lot of restaurants nearby and it's not too far from the Lotte Department store.||||It has an indoor pool area, which was massive and an indoor jacuzzi that can fit 20 people or more. The outdoor pool area is really pretty. You have nice city views and a view of both towers.||There are many restaurants in the hotel too, a bit quite expensive. I found room service and Pocha bar the most reasonably priced.||||While cleanliness and room amenities are excellent, the main client service levels fell slightly short of five-star expectations, with limited personal engagement from staff. They were competent enough, but I felt the reception team lacked the warmth, and the security were intimidating and not friendly. No greeting, and they would follow you around. Having said that, I had limited interaction with them, so they didn't impact my enjoyment of the...
