We‘ve been here several times now and while the cinema is fairly clean and the film and sound quality are pretty good, I can not understand why the cinema halls are so extremely cold. With 25 or more degrees outside I have to wear long pants, socks and bring a jacket and I‘m still freezing. And even then I am not comfortable and would also need gloves and a scarf and my nose would still be ice cold. As the screening halls have been mostly empty when we were there, I don’t know how others feel about this but there were 2 young women in a screening of „Avatar (2009)“ in V.O.S.E. and they complained to each other about the same thing and said that they needed jackets. Even my husband, who rode with a bicycle to work in Germany in the deep winter when it was snowing with just a t-shirt, an open jacket and no scarf, so in short is not very temperature sensitive, finds it extremely cold in there. We don’t understand this, as not only is that unnecessary, especially in these days, it is also extremely unhealthy to climatize that way. Also the price information at the candy stand at the front is a catastrophe. The only existing price label shows that everything (meaning candy bars etc.) costs 1€, but my Bounty was around 1,30/1,40€. I only realized this after paying for this and a medium coke. This is very customer unfriendly, maybe even slightly fraudulent. I don’t want to ask for every single price before I buy something and surely don’t want to be surprised during my payment. And now to the thing that really shocked me: we were at a screening of „Smile“ (in Spanish) on October 19th at 17:10 in hall 4. We were sitting in row 12 seats 1 and 3. To the left, in the last 2 or 3 rows, where a group of 4 to 6 boys, that were, at an absolute maximum, 12 years old. The movie was PG 16!!! They were so little, they even needed to use the booster seats that were lying in front of the screening room in order to be able to look over the seats and see the screen. When we entered the screening room and saw them we thought we were accidentally in the wrong hall or the wrong movie. Nobody seemed to care, certainly not the male employee who entered the room about 3 to 4 times before, during and after the screening. I didn’t see an adult with the boys, they left the cinema alone. I don’t know how it is in Spain, but where I come from something like this is against the law, even if the parents would allow it, and public authorities would order a huge fine in a case like that or even temporarily close the cinema. Please keep in mind: this was a movie where people cut their throats and burned themselves alive. I sincerely hope that the management at the X Sur Cine takes this seriously and takes steps to do better...
Read moreVery nice cinema with always very friendly stuff,BUT after the ENGLISH projection i watched today- a short chubby cleaner from the stuff came to talk to me in spanish about the movie and i understood him,but kindly replied"lo siento hablo poco español"- he got angry and told me in very RUDE manner in spanish" this is spain - and you must speak spanish" !
Well as far as i know english is the international language all over the world and Tenerife is island with mostly british tourism.... I very much doubt that this rude chubby cleaner before he visits for example Russia or Thailand he studies first russian or thai language!!! Nobody asked him to come and bother me and criticize me for my spanish speaking abilities! My pleasure from the great movie got ruined by him!
Is it so hard to JUST BE KIND?!?!
Again- the cinema is great to visit and all the stuff behind the bar(specially Christian) and the ticket sellers (except the chubby cleaner) are VERY kind and...
Read moreGreat Cinema Experience for the Minecraft Movie Launch! 🎬
We went to X-Sur Cine to watch the launch of the Minecraft movie, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish!
The seats were really comfortable, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the film. The kids especially loved it – they were given boosters/toppers to help them see the screen better, which was such a thoughtful touch and made a big difference.
The popcorn and drinks were well priced, which is always appreciated – no over-the-top cinema markups here! Everything was fresh and tasty, making it easy to enjoy some treats without breaking the bank.
Overall, it was a great atmosphere, clean venue, and the perfect place to watch a fun, family-friendly film. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend for a stress-free, enjoyable...
