“Everything you can imagine is real.” ― Pablo Picasso That’s certainly how we feel here at the chic @mebarcelonahotel where art and beauty intersect. Did we mention that we’re also steps away from several of Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces on the Manzana de la Discordia – the Block of Discord. That’s the most famous collection of modernist buildings sharing the same facade in Barcelona. We’re also overlooking Barcelona’s Plaça de Caralunya and the whole hotel is decked out in awesome modern art. Who else loves art & design hotels?🙋🏼♀️🙋🏻♂️ #MeBarcelonaHotel #ThisiME #MEbyMelia 📍Barcelona, Spain 🎥 @lighttravelsfaster . . . . . #travel #travelblogger #mrlighttravelsfaster #lighttravelsfaster #spaintravel #traveladdict #travelawesome #traveltheworld #catchflightsnotfeelings #wanderlust #spain🇪🇸 #travelreel #travelreels #cntraveler #travelblogger #traveldeeper #travelgoals #barcelonaspain #luxuryhotel #luxurytravel #luxurytraveller #melia #mehotel #barcelonahotel

Plaça de Catalunya in Barcelona is a big and busy square right in the middle of the city. It’s a popular spot where a lot of tourists and locals hang out, and you can get there easily by bus, train, or metro. The square is surrounded by different kinds of buildings, some old and some new, and has shops, banks, and cafes around it. It’s pretty with fountains, statues, and green spots to sit and relax. This place is important for the city’s culture and history because it’s often where people gather for concerts and celebrations. There are lots of shops around, from fancy ones to regular stores, and you can find many places to eat, from small cafes to fancier restaurants. At night, the square looks beautiful with lights, but you should be careful as it can get a bit unsafe. The square can be very crowded, which might not be everyone’s favorite thing, and it doesn’t have as many old, interesting buildings as other parts of Barcelona. But overall, Plaça de Catalunya is a lively spot that’s great for shopping, enjoying the local vibe, and just watching people, making it a cool place to visit when you’re in the city.

This is a great shopping area with roads leading off it to more shops. Huge Primark, El Corte de Ingles department store. Zara is very popular as seems to be everywhere and many other shops too. Lots of cafes and tapas bars. Small boutique shops in the side streets. It's based at the top of La Rambla so easily walkable. At night it's still busy with shops closing at 9pm. It's the hub where the Aerobus (to and from the airport) drops passengers. Tourist information is also based here for the hop-on hop-off tour buses as well as claiming the tax back on your purchases. Remember to tell them at the checkout if you want to claim tax back as the receipt will be different. Shops will need ID so be sure to have a copy of your passport on your phone so they can link the purchase to you. We claimed the tax back at the airport before departure in T1. Its quite well signposted.and there is a helpdesk if you need assistance. Tax refunded to the card if the stores have set it up correctly or in cash. As cash a commission is taken by Tourist Information or at the airport.
