A Taste of Italy in Gran Canaria – Simply Outstanding! Tired of bland, repetitive hotel buffet meals? Take a dive into authentic Italian flavors right here in Gran Canaria. This restaurant is not just a place to eat—it’s a full sensory experience that transports you straight to Italy. From the stunning location and beautifully designed space to the warm, welcoming atmosphere, everything about this place is simply perfect. Now, let’s talk about the food—10/10, absolute perfection. We had an unforgettable meal, starting with the cauliflower meatballs and hummus, a traditional family recipe (a must-try!), and a shrimp tartare with creamy cheese, crumbled taralli, and avocado—fresh, delicate, and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we enjoyed spaghetti and then homemade meat ravioli with ragù—hands down the best ragù we’ve had in years (sorry, Italian grandma!). We also tried a tuna steak with purée, which was cooked to absolute perfection. Every dish was a masterpiece. Dessert? A flawless Sicilian cassata—rich, authentic, and the perfect sweet ending. And then, the service—what can we say? Ivan was excellent, and the whole team was incredibly friendly and engaging, making our evening even more special. We chatted for a long time, truly unwinding and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. One thing that left me speechless: at the end of each meal, the waiter would replace the tablecloths—beautifully decorated in Sicilian style—with fresh, clean ones. A truly special touch. Needless to say, we’ll be back soon—there’s no way we’re leaving without trying the rest...
Read moreas a new yorker, i will be biased, and remember, it’s always about the context. i.e., you’re in a tourist trap, so you will be trapped. i came here because my usual italian restaurant is closed in september, and they recommended i come here. i found the place and the service and the food mediocre to passable, but considering you’re in puerto de mogan, it’s really not that bad. judging by the other reviews, others even like it, a lot. there were no children, so i can’t vouch for those who complained about bad treatment when you’re with fussy kids, but for sure the restaurant has teddy bears everywhere, so that’s counter-intuitive. the home made pasta was unremarkable (i make better pasta al ragu at home, which really shouldn’t be the case), the wine by the glass selection is poor (one red, one white, one rosé, one cava) and i didn’t even finish the puglia i ordered. the prices are from the same origin (tourist trap) and they are a bit excessive, given the unremarkable nature of the dishes. would i come back here? no. was it horrible? no. but frankly, you should...
Read moreWe recently dined at this restaurant with our 3.5-year-old daughter and had a delightful experience. The service was incredibly accommodating, family-friendly, and attentive. For starters, we had the goat cheese with spicy paprika sauce and honey sata. Our main courses included crispy squid with breaded zucchini, ravioli with Bolognese, and pasta with Bolognese from the children's menu. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu and the "Cassata siciliana". Everything tasted amazing, and you could tell the pasta was homemade. The tiramisu was particularly exceptional.
While the dishes are somewhat on the pricier side and the portions may not be large enough to satisfy a very big appetite with just one dish (though pasta dishes are usually filling, and the children's menu was generous for the price), we found the prices reasonable for the quality of food and service.
The decor is vibrant and eclectic, which might not appeal to everyone, but it certainly stands out. Overall, we were very satisfied with our visit and are eager to return to explore more...
