I have been initially approached by the gallery owner, Stéphane Alaux, who proposed me to take in consignments a few of my pieces. Given his reputation and trust from one of my business provider, I have accepted and provided them 3 pieces in perfect condition. In 2 years, the gallery has used exhibited my pieces, moved them for several events and exhibitions (which initially raised my concern in how they have been protected) and even discounted them online (which created troubles with my other galeries). After 2 years, I have requested to get them back: All the 3 pieces are scratched and discolored. After sending a message to the gallery owner, Stéphane Alaux, he simply answered me that the pieces have always been like this and since you had no contract with them, nothing will be done! (See attached). And he simply blocked me! How professional M. Alaux! And this statement is false, especially since he would have never put my artwork for sale if they were damaged and as of today, they still appear in perfect conditions on their website (see attached). To all the other artists who may be tempted by the speech of M. Alaux to attract you, I strongly do not recommend to work with him and any gallery he may represent! And in case he reads this message, please remain aware that you are currently on a case with our legal department since we will not let a gallery treating me and my artwork in such...
Read moreStumbled across this gallery while wandering around Valencia and really glad I did. It's tucked away on a side street next and completely free to enter, which was a nice surprise.
The space has a good mix of contemporary art - I really liked the pieces by Goderch and Malavia. There was also some interesting work by Orlinsky that caught my attention. The layout makes it easy to move around and actually see the art properly.
Staff was friendly and didn't hover, which I appreciated. Nice to find a gallery that feels accessible rather than intimidating. I spoke to the owner, a French guy called Stephan, who was very welcoming.
Worth a quick visit if you're in the area and have 20-30 minutes to spare (right next to the Mercado central where you can grab something to eat or drink after. I had a lovely refreshing lemon drink - crushed ice but can't remember the Spanish...
