Having informed them I was arriving around 11PM, they made arrangements for someone to stay in contact through whatsApp providing I paid them €10 for the late checkin. Sure enough I was greeted and enquired as to ETA when I arrived at the Airport. ||Getting there was easy enough: red line #3 metro from the Aeropurto to Àngel Guimerà. Walk a couple blocks East towards the Central Market. ||My contact met up with me within minutes and after some introductions, we proceeded to talk in English as we walked up to the room. It was a simple setting with simple amenities: individual rooms (with separate locks); strange use of MDF panels as bed headboards and side tables; white linen with adequate bedding. Fold out table and wire mesh storage/shelf. ||They provide you with 3 sets of keys - Front, Flat and room door. Check out was as simple as leaving the keys behind in the bedroom and lockup after yourself. ||I was shown the WiFi password at the mini reception with leaflets, shown the shared toilets and showers, and told to take whatever from the the kitchen.||Free streaming TV for the night but I was just tired from my journey.||Come Morning time, the bed was comfy enough. Reminded me of Futon mattresses around a mate's house. ||Went to have a shower and noticed the main shower heads were slashed therefore rendering them useless/dripping; 'luckily' there's 2 shower heads to their design - one hand held and the other overhanging. ||Location is superb - cross the road to the famous...
Read moreAlthough this place is in a very good location, and the price is low, there are so many bad points that it dosn’t justify either. In getting the keys from the locker outside, I was tired after travelling, and needed to chill for a while before going out to eat. The place smelled very musty on one entering the steel door. The room was small with NO EN-SUITE facilities. You need to go outside the room to use one of the 3 bathrooms. The towels they provided are the cheapest and thinnest and smallest I’ve ever seen. The bathrooms are clean, the toilet seats are not stable cos they are low quality. There is no kettle or water in the room. The pillows are not fit for purpose. I had to pick up a cushion from a local shop. The walls are wafer thin and the people in the next room may as well been separated by a cloth sheet, as you could hear everything they said. The area is very noisy all the time. There is no double glazing. I can’t wait to move on tomorrow, and get out of here. Very disappointed indeed. If you are young and just want to get drunk and crash, this is the place for you! I am older and it’s not for me! My advice is to pay more and steer clear of here !! Oh and it’s NOT a b&b. It’s a hostel. No breakfast was on offer! Also the photos in the ad are staged to make it...
Read moreDon't know what to say about this accomodation, has mixed feelings about it. It is value for money and I am writing this not to ruin the business. I hope the owner of this B&B can take onboard of the suggestions and making the necessary improvements to bring the place more welcoming and pleasant to stay.
Good Points : There is good communication via watsapps with the owner and the reply is almost instant. There is wifi service in the room, TV to watch Netflix and air conditioner. The few common shower rooms come with hairdryer, shower gels and hair shampoo. There is a kitchen for guests to use. The location is very centralised and just a minute walk to the famous Mercat Central Market.
Bad Points : I could hear the commotion on the streets even with the window closed. The noise made from adjacent room could be heard clearly. There is a foul smell in the air and seems stronger in the kitchen area. I was afraid to use the cutlery, plates and glass or any items. The smell is worst when you open the fridge, just unbearable. The water dispensing machine is not working at all, needs to be fixed. There is no floor towel available in the shower room, leaving the place wet and unpleasant for...
