Nordstan has it all with its 306 700 m², varying stores from clothing, jewellery, restaurangs, pubs, hotel and much more. Nordstan Area even has the second biggest Apple store in Europe with is 1 600 m².
Whether you're seeking for something specific/special or just looking around, Nordstan has it all. It has over 200 stores and many more stores and office buildings around the area. Whenever I'm seeking for a gift or things that I'm unable to find else where then Nordstan is the place to go. I promise you won't leave empty handed and I'm not the type of guy that's a big shopper.
Nordstan has easy public transport(trams) that takes you straight into the heart of the area. Nordstan also has a huge parking garage that can fit 2 700 cars and I have never had any problem with parking. However, I would highly recommend to avoid Nordstan days before a holiday, because that's when everyone remebers they need to buy gifts.
It can be a bit tricky to get in and out of Nordstan onto the freeway during rush hour if you're unfamiliar with the area, so I would recommend to plan ahead.
Cons: Some weekends specially with good weather there's going to be a lot of people, the area is big so it shouldn't be a problem. If you want to go to public toilets, prepare to have some coin change as it's usually not free. It is by far not the prettiest mall I've seen but it sure post it purpose.
Something that I dislike highly is the amount of beggars trying to use people's pity to gain money, the gangs or whoever controls them clearly picks the people that are disabled and such*, just because we shall feel pity to them. I'm not a big fan of people usage and having beggars walking around a mall. Other than this, if you're in the town and seeking a place to shop then this is the spot.
There's a whole documentary about this and even the court has...
Read moreNordstan sells gift cards which are not fully valid in Nordstan’s shops!!!
We gave two Nordstan gift cards as a birthday present, and we received very embarrassing call from the receiver of the cards which cards are not working while she tried in some shops in the mall and none of them were successful! She was our guest and going back soon. So cards are totally useless! It was not random because shop keepers knew it well!
Long story short! I had a conversation with Nordstan’s customer service to find out why! The only answer I got was to check website!!! Of course we did and that is why we had called! it was even worse because she mentioned that she is only a guard who had to answer phones and has no more information and personals were on vacations so cannot help more we can send email!
Though this issue was well known by Nordstan and they have not fixed it for a while! Furthermore, they have not stopped selling the card or even there were no notice on vendor machines which says cards will not work in the...
Read moreHuge not very pretty shopping mall with boring interior and exterior, hardly any place to just sit down and rest without paying. Extremely low availability of toilets reflect low understanding of consumers needs (a full shopping day is pretty much out of the question). The mall is smacked with mainstream shops as in any ordinar shopping mall in Sweden/Europe.
Much like putting in a bunch of boxes with shops, & outside the boxes there is just dirty huge spaces that seem to stay put, year after year. Except from 1x sweet café with a green wall, in the basement.
These spaces have potential & could be used so much smoother; breaking boundaries, think outside the box, pull out the shops on the venues - first of all the food places, and why not create a (set) food market. And for god sake, choose one (1x) name for the mall, preferably a name that communicates what this potentially nice place could become.
Sorry to say you wont find much really unique in this space/not...
