Ching Palace — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

I went there with two of my family members and it was very crowded. We had to look for an unoccupied table far from the actual buffet and many tables were reserved. The sushi was a bit disappointing, the Maki pieces were 95% rice and then they had put paprika in the middle which I thought was odd and definitely not fitting. The fruit was alright, but nothing special. There was a table with coffee and pastries but they only had vanilla flavor for everything.

They also had a fancy chef who would cook food (picked by yourself) from a buffet table of raw foods and vegetables. The problem with that system though is that the plates get mixed up very often. For example, I had put corn and meat on my plate and I got handed a plate with onions and a lot of garlic and chili. If they upgraded the system to something with nametags or anything to better find the right plate or to not cook the food next to other people's choices (for allergy reasons) then I would consider coming back but I'd make a reservation for sure.

The food was also not refilled often which I thought was bad because every time I'd go back to get a specific thing, it'd still be empty because people had taken so much of the same thing at once. Eventually I just gave up and then I saw it being refilled as we left, so that was pretty sad considering we had stayed for...

I saw another comment here same as I always wanted to say: this places is SO racist, I am Mexican student, one day I came in this place with an Arab friend, they didn't let me because I had no reservation (the place was absolutely empty and it was early) I thought it was okeeey so I decided to leave.... because is normal to need a reservation, as I was going out I saw 2 families comming in and I still had the doubt, so I went ahead and I ask them politely if they had reservation and they say 'no', so yeah... My friend came back in another day and they did not allowed him in again haha. I didn't knew Sweden has this kind of issues and these are not even swedes. I felt very very angry and somehow humiliated because I am Mexican but I have never had this type of discrimination before. I hate this place.

Update: I spoke with some people and now they say they cook 'everything' in pork fat so Muslim people don't even bother to go there, this is intolerable racism. I am not arab nor Muslim but this practice MUST be...

Are you a food enthusiast or just a food lover? Then this place is a must go spot! The food is amazing and the staff is good too. They have beers so you never walk out that door dissatisfied. There's two types of "buffets" in here. The regular which contains various types of food. But also the raw food cart wich you pick whatever you like and they cook it in front of you. Mongolian style. Also they even have a dessert buffet. With the Swedish "Weinerbröd" and fried banana or Pinapple and coffee or tea ofc. And beside the soft drink machine there's also sliced lemons for you to have in your drink by choice. Now that's customer service. This is a all day five star banger!
