The site is unique. A small square: the heart of the chaotic city of Stonetown. The facades of the old houses around the square are painted white and purple and some beautiful doors that belong to the UNESCO Heritage are also preserved, carved in wood, in Indian, Arabic or Swahili styles from the 18th century, from Zanzibar's heyday.
