I had the most incredible experience at Captown Fish Market today! From the moment I walked in, I was immersed in a vibrant atmosphere filled with energy and excitement, right on the shores of the Indian Ocean. The breathtaking view of the ocean added an extra layer of charm to an already amazing dining experience.
The live performance by the Asali band added a fantastic musical backdrop to the evening, making it a truly memorable dining experience. It was like enjoying great music with the soothing sound of the waves in the background.
The service was top-notch, with a special shoutout to our waiter, Best, who provided attentive and friendly service throughout the evening. He even brought us their signature Caffellate, which was a delightful and refreshing touch.
And then there was the main highlight - the food. The chef, Amri, truly outdid themselves with the well-prepared Teliak salmon dish. It was not only cooked to perfection but bursting with flavor that tantalized my taste buds. It's easily one of the best salmon dishes I've ever had.
Captown Fish Market's unique location right by the Indian Ocean, combined with the perfect blend of great food, live entertainment, and impeccable service, makes it a must-visit. I left the restaurant with a satisfied palate, a heart full of joy, and a mind already planning my next visit. I can't wait to experience this amazing journey...
Read moreFOOD POISONING ALERT : Today we were at the Zanzibar restaurant. We ordered some sushi dishes and the prawn popcorn. We immediately realised there was an off taste but we thought it was the spicy mayo. Unfortunately after removing the cover and sauce i smelled the prawns. They would stink death. Really bad. We complained immediately and raised the concerns with the manager that they should check their stock of prawns. He acknowledged the bad smell and was apologetic. He mentioned that the chef knew that they slightly smell but he said that we wouldn't get food poisoning ( Are you for real????)
Manager offered us something else from the menu as an apology. We ordered one of the plates we had ordered already tuna sushi and ohhh boy... They refused to give it for free and wanted us to pay for it. Tuna is too good to be offered for free đ Then the manager said they would just remove the prawns from the bill as an apology.(?????)
Their behaviour was disgusting. They know there is an issue with the prawns. They still serve them to the customers. Then they offer something for an apology. Then they don't want to offer it for free because it was tuna and they only want to remove their poisonous dish from the bill like they are doing us a favour. Shame on you. Both me and my husband are now (2 hours later) sick with stomach cramps...
Read moreWe chose a premium spot, to have a premium experience. Instead we had a very weird experience here.. After we ordered, a waiter came and took my and my mothers utensils to set up another table.. And when i asked why he did that, he said because "in the system it said you didnt order food". When I asked what that meant, another waiter told me he was sorry, and that he would make it right and take care of us.
Later we ordered an iced coffee and it came in a cracked glass..
Finally when it was time to take care of us..not only was there no gesture of "being taken care of" (i.e. Free sofa or something), we got grossly over charged for a bottle of water we never explictly ordered. After paying, the waiter didnt even greet us a good bye or thank us for dining there.
The service left a sour taste in my mouth, especially since the meal is considerably $ for that area and the country.
Did not enjoy the food, not because of taste, but just the weirdness of the encounter. Would not recommend based on the service.
Fyi even by the time we paid, no one came to sit at the table where the waiter took our utensils to.. ... So...
