Chang Phueak Gate — Attraction in Chiang Mai Province

One of the remaining gate structures surrounding Chiang Mai. Walked the perimeter of the old city starting here and stopped for lunch an beer after doing the 6 klm walk around. The coldest beer I have had in Thailand, lunch was excellent. If you are in the area of the northern gate try it.They have a small pool table and the sun is at your back so cool to sit and watch world go by. If you are an Aussie or Kiwi come here....

The gate is a sight with great history, information around the gate and loads of photos opportunities. Unfortunately its not the original, as that was destroyed by the Burmese, however its still in the same form, just with more modern looking bricks. Also a shame that youre not allowed on the top of the wall despite there being steps...
