Why horses? Read that the temple was built on the plot of land where horses were raised as beasts of burden in the old days after the horses were gone, in recognizing their worth and in their remembrance. The name of Khun-kha Ma, meaning horses' worth/value, somehow has become Khuan-kha Ma, with not much change in the meaning. Built probably some 500 years ago, and despite all those horses on the wall, it now looks "deserted". While the grounds serve as a parking lot, the structure with the temple's main...

Another one of Chiang Mai’s beautiful temple again with an amazing pagoda. The temple is nice but not in a top 5 for me. Still, it’s beautiful and definitely worth going to visit if you are doing a temple run in Chiang Mai. Do this one just to complete them all, don’t mark it out as a single experience to go for cause there are indeed more interesting temples than this. I still give it 4 out of 5 cause it IS beautiful in...

Small temple with a couple of beautiful features, but not a "must see." Not a lot of activity, close to the noisy moat road. The paintings in the porch of the southern wat are in the Indian style, and there are a lot of mirror mosaics. Great horse...
