The ambiance at Chang Phueak is relaxed and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The menu is concise yet covers all the essentials of Thai comfort food. But let's talk about the star of the show—the pork leg rice.
The pork leg rice at Chang Phueak is a triumph of simplicity and taste. The tender, slow-cooked pork leg is served over a generous portion of steamed jasmine rice, accompanied by a boiled egg and a side of pickled mustard greens. The dish is then drizzled with a savory, slightly sweet sauce that enhances the flavors without overpowering them.
What makes this dish exceptional is the quality of the pork. The meat is incredibly tender, falling off the bone with each bite. It's clear that great care has been taken in the cooking process to achieve such perfect texture and flavor.
Service at Chang Phueak is friendly and efficient. The staff are attentive and happy to make recommendations if you're unsure what to order.

Read moreI experienced this meal just now.. I am eating alone, and just to find some atmosphere in the evening in ChiangMai.. Unfortunately, fame made them become "trying to be different" with other food vendors around. If other food vendors still provide icy water and some other stuffs like tissue, chilli, sugar, or other things, this vendor just served me with a plate of meal I ordered (rice and pork knuckle (B50), (which was only 1 menu: pork knuckle, with the choice: no rice (B100), + rice (B50) and + rice + boiled egg (B60)), and fork and spoon. That's it! When I asked for water, as any other street vendors normally gave, one of the crew said that I need to pay another B10 for the water!? And when I asked for tissue, he said: they don't have it! Wow.. The food is OK.. I mean, I didn't feel any nausea whenever I ate the skin of the pork. In fact, it tasted good.. Unfortunately, the attitude of selling, ruin the taste. How can u expect a person to eat without any supporting stuffs, even drinking water.. Is this the attitude of being snobbish for become famous? Very unfortunate..
If u just concentrate of the meals, then this place is good to taste the knuckle.. But if u r looking for the atmosphere of having friendly and comfort dinner? Just prepare for the things I...
Read moreI was highly recommended by a friend to visit this place when I was there in Sept 2024. So on the way back from Chiang Rai, we dropped by for a super late night dinner cum supper at this place. There isn't much left and the cowboy hat lady have went back 😆🤠 so, it was the ordinary staffs serving us. It doesn't matter. What's important is the FOOD!!! Was starving like mad and the braised pork 🐖 🐷 was delicious, we also ordered the intestine (for senior citizen) which I tried 1 piece and find it not bad either. Then we had the braised egg which i like a lot. There are pickled vege on the table that you could get some to eat together with the rice. Overall I also (now my turn) to highly recommend anyone that stays in Chiang Mai and wanted good food. The meat just melts in your mouth. Please take grab, there's no parking and is a busy street. The price is cheap (really worth it) and please don't expect to be seated in a 5 star atmosphere, just simple tables and chair... open air, just...
