Amongst the many small Camii (Masjid) in Eminonu, Istanbul, Turkey. This Arpacilar Camii one may thought was a moseluem beside a public washroom tuck almost blended in the other surrounding old architecture between coffee shops, Turkish souvenir shop & clothes boutique but when adzan (Islamic call to prayer) heard than one would realise there a Camii/Mescit/ Masjid (Mosque) between the busy exciting colourful streets of Eminonu, Istanbul Turkey

Sheikh Mehmet Geylani and Ali Geylani who attended conquest of Istanbul had this mosque built in the first years after the conquest. Their graves can be seen inside the mosque.

Arpacılar Câmii, Bursa Tekkesi Mescîdi ve Şeyh Mehmet ile Ali Geylânî Türbesi; Eminönü'nde Yeni Câmii'nin yakınında yer almaktadır. İstanbul'un kuşatmasına katılmış Şeyh Mehmet Geylânî ile kardeşi Şeyh Ali Geylânî tarafından fetihten az sonra bir mescid zâviye olarak tesîs edilmiştir. Bu iki kardeşin Kâdirîliğin pîri Seyyid Abdülkâdir Geylânî'nin neslinden ve tarîkatından oldukları fetihten önce Bursa'da yaşadıkları anlaşılmaktadır. Kayıtlara göre yapının içinde bulunan türbenin 1453'de yapılmış olduğu söylenmektedir.

1453’de Şeyh Mehmet Geylanî ve kardeşi Şeyh Ali Geylanî tarafından yapılmıştır. Seyyid Abdülkadir Geylanî’nin tarikatına mensup olan bu kardeşler, İstanbul’un fethine katılmışlar ve Fatih’in takdirini kazanmışlardır. Bursa Tekkesi Mescidi, Arpacılar veya Şeyh Mehmet Geylanî Mescidi de denilmektedir. Şeyh Geylanî, fetihte önce Bursa’da yaşadığından mescidin ismi içine “Bursa” eklenmiştir. Bulunduğu caddede de arpacı dükkânları bulunduğundan, caddeye de, mescide de “Arpacı” ismi verilmiştir. Mescit sıcacık atmosferiyle sarar cemaatini. Girişteki kabirler de size ölümü unutturmaz.
