Stayed for 5 days in September at the Regie. What a fabulous experience! I picked the hotel after zillion hours of research because we wanted: top location as first visitors to Istanbul, personalized service at boutique hotel, chic stylish accommodations, and great breakfast. The Regie exceeded our expectations in EVERYTHING! Will summarize: Location: From the Regie it was so easy to reach all the major sights in Istanbul we wanted to see in 5 days. We mostly walked to everything in Sultanahmet: Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Spice Museum, Blue Mosque and the Museums are all located no more than 15 min walking. We also walked over to Galata and Karakoy as the bridge that crosses over is just minutes from the hotel. For sights like Dolmabahce Palace and others we found the tram the most convenient way to move around. There are trams just every couple of minutes and a stop just a couple blocks from the hotel. The Eminou ferry terminal likewise is only a few minutes walk from the hotel and we took ferries to the Asian side and to ports along the Bosphorus from there. The Regie’s location allowed us to do so much more than I thought possible without being exhausted. Facilities: The hotel is small but quite chic and stylish. We stayed in a Superior Room that was just the right size, had tall ceilings and plenty of light from tall windows. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was modern and the linens and furniture all quite stylish and tasteful. We love boutique hotels that have rustic/antique/old world elements but have been updated with modern furnishings and confortable touches. The Regie is just that! Service and Staff: The hotel offers personalized attention and the staff is always eager to help in anything you need. The manager Gokhan is fantastic! He made recommendations for us that were right on the spot! Everyone did everything to ensure us a fantastic stay, going above and beyond. We are also very grateful to Melissa and Kerim who greeted us every morning with the broadest smile possible, and to Mustafa who cleaned our room to perfection, and also to the rest of the staff that unfortunately cannot remember all their names. Food. Simply amazing! The Regie’s was one of the best breakfast we had in Turkey, every day they had different warm dishes, theirs were the best Menemem eggs we had in all of Turkey over 2 weeks, their fruits and breads incredible fresh. We had 5 breakfast at the hotel and we always had something different to try and enjoy. We also had dinner one night at their Michelin restaurant Ocak. (We learned that Rick Steves had dined there the night after us!). I highly recommend dinner at Ocak, a memorable experience in a lovely setting.

Read moreThe title of my review says it all, although it doesn't mention the absolute perfection of the staff. Gökhan, the concierge, is perhaps the finest concierge I have encountered in all my worldly travels. Your interactions with him lift your mood and energize you to encounter all that Istanbul has to offer. You have zero problems with him on your side. Ahmet, Mustafa, and so many others, are kind, helpful, and very competent. |Our room, a superior suite, really embodied the charm of this brick built tobacco warehouse from the 19th century. The hotel is quite beautiful and well maintained. It is in a bustling but not overbearing part of Istanbul. It is so near to everything!|The breakfast buffet is among the best I have enjoyed. If you dont see what you like, you can order an egg dish to your liking. There is an attached bar where we spent several comfortable nights closing out our day and chatting with the very skilled bartender.|My wife and I are avid runners and workout nearly every day. The fitness room, although small, was more than adequate with a treadmill, a stationary bike, a rower, a smith machine, and a cable machine. We never encountered anyone else using it, so its small size was not a problem.|As far as location, not only is it walking distance to Sultanhamet, about 15 minutes if you stroll slowly, it is also very near several of the Sirkeci mass transit stations that can take your everywhere, even across the Bosphorus. Its also 5 minutes from the two main ferry's, and that is the most enjoyable way to cross the Bosphorus. As runners, we were close to Gülhane park, just beautiful, and its easy access to a paved multi-mile pathway along the sea that was just amazing. |Another value about the location is that you are also near some other must see sights such as the spice bazaar and the Sulemaniye mosque. I recommend this hotel highly and will likely stay...
Read moreStaff: The staff is incredibly professional and warm. Their genuine cared about us during our stay. Gokhan was an absolute joy to talk to and always was available to offer recommendations and address any questions we had. Rooms: We had the Attic Room, they are perfect for two people. The rooms are modern and very well kept. It was super clean, no dust, showers worked wonderfully (including hot water) and as an added bonus the rooms had this cool modern window that opens and closes the blinds from a wall-mounted console (something I've rarely seen in hotels). Atmosphere: Impeccable cleanliness and neatly arrange. All the furniture in the rooms were well kept and the rooms are very comfortable and orderly. The hotel's design further enhances the overall ambiance, while it's ideal location catres to guests whether staying for a short visit or an extended stay. Amenities: The gym and sauna facilities in the basement are exceptional. The gym is astoundingly complete (it even has an air bike... not even my gym at home has that). The sauna is clean and well kept, and a nice way to relax after a day spent exploring the city. Breakfast: The breakfast is DEFINITELY worth it! There was an array of Turkish delicacies and treats and a delightful way to kickstart the day. Moreover, the attentive service from the waitstaff adds and extra touch of sweetness to the experience.
TL;DR: An 100/10 hotel for anyone visiting Istanbul. I'm already looking froward to my...
