This is the best restaraunt me and my wife visited in Istanbul. It is away from the tourist areas, and you’ll find it packed with locals eating the best authentic Turkish style food. We had the mixed grill with yogurt drink (comes frothy and fresh in a cold copper like cup). The portion is enormous and the price is the cheapest we have seen. They are so generous with the portions and they are much friendlier than the usual resteraunt we visited in turkey. We loved this place so much, we weren’t satisfied with any other resteraunt with the standard Turkish menu. We came back here multiple times. Ignore the low reviews, it’s 5/5.

This place was highly recommended by one of the dearest person in my life. That is why I tried it but probably I wouldn’t go again. First of all, the place is lacking from hygiene. We ordered Sur Kebap for 3 people and the portion was big enough for 4 people. I have ate way better kebaps than this. The bread was freshly cooked which was tasty. Then we ordered their famous Sur desert which is made with Semolina, raw gum and ice cream. It was definitely different but I cannot say was delicious. Prices are average compared to other places.

That’s not my first time here. I’ve been here before. It was delicious, service was awesome. But this time was terrible. And the problem was that i brought here my guests cuz I’d been talking about this place. Almost 30 mins later they served us. Plate was cold, fat was frozen on the plate. And what, they brought our beverages after we finished our plates. The main problem was they served every guests arrived after us. They even bothered themselves for an apology. Not it’s overrated place compare to before.

Don’t be discouraged by the average reviews! We visited this restaurant based on Anthony Bourdain’s recommendation, and it did not disappoint. They offer complimentary meze (Turkish appetizers with bread) with any main course, and the bread is absolutely amazing—freshly made, soft, and fluffy. I also loved the Adana Kebap and Ayran. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Turkish food at great value.

Lahmacun söyledik. Herkes çok beğendi. Öneriyoruz. Sac tava söyledik. Kimse beğenmedi. Etler sert ve hafif kayış kıvamındaydı. Ağızda kesinlikle dağılmıyordu. Kesinlikle önermiyoruz. Kemikli ve kemiksiz biryan kebabı söyledik. Kemiksiz çok iyiydi. Kemikli de iyiydi ama kuruydu. Kemikliyi canınız çekerse yemenizi, kemiksizi ise her halükarda sipariş vermenizi tavsiye ederim. Perde pilavı sipariş verdik. Sıcacık yeni pişirilerek geldi. Porsiyonu baya fazla. İç pilavı gayet başarılı. Malzemeden kaçılmamış. İçinde tavuk eti var. Baya beğendik. Tavsiye ediyoruz. Çiğ köfte sipariş verdik. Porsiyon da çok yok. Tadımlık. Hafif acı. Acı sevmeyenlere tavsiye etmem. Standart diyebilirim. Alıp almamayı size bırakıyorum. Yemeklerin yanına da ayran söyledik. Açık olarak metal bardakda geliyor. Tadını beğendik. Porsiyon da baya fazla. Mekan kesinlikle fiyat performans mekanı. O bölge için tavsiye ederim ama yine de fazla bir beklenti ile gitmemekte fayda var.

Old fashion but almost delicious if servicing hot or warm. I tasted Buryan which absolutely close to perfect but due to rush time during Ramadan, service is arranged earlier in order to catch the time of all customers. It same for other meal as Perde Pilavi, mumbar etc However, at anytime in normally, definitely suggest to go. Strongly suggest to eat dessert which calls Sur Tatli.
