The Bell may be THE BEST Live Music venue left in Bath! The space makes any gig a bit "intimate", esp. when crowded, but the stage is well raised so well suited to cam-phone filming / pix!

Service is EXCELLENT -- Bonnie & Sophia are the superstars behind the bar, w the best smiles in the biz! ALL staff are friendly + fast service. Wide selection of good-value (fairly priced) drinks (buy one for your server!) AND a jug of water + clean glasses available at the end of the bar for those who want it.

Indoor seating fills up for gigs, but otherwise is ample when just popping in for a drink when there's no gig. There's a curious / unique pool-like competitive game in The Bell. Give it a go with friends.

There's seating outside, smokers will appreciate. There's also a PIZZA MAKER on-site at some hours, serving shareable eats in convenient pizza boxes.

Loos inside aren't huge, but -- tip! -- there's an extra set at the back corner of the outside seating area.

Parking:: not on-site; try along Walcot St itself, else park at the "Cattle market" outdoor or Podium multistorey both further down, and walk back.

Wheelchair access:: Any gig I've been to, I've always seen the one guy in his wheelchair beside the stage, enjoying...

Shockingly bad experience at The Bell. Visited on a Thursday evening for drinks with colleagues. First round of drinks was pleasant and the pub had a good atmosphere. Invited a senior colleague to join us for a drink, who was given ale that was clearly off and unsuitable for consumption. However, the bar lady was extremely rude when politely asked to swap the drink - first, refusing to acknowledge the problem, and refused to address the problem. Second, when I challenged her decision, I was verbally abused, that is, told to "f* off" several times. Truly shocked and saddened by this experience - never been sworn at by bar staff anywhere, and especially surprising for a pub in Bath. We usually visit The Bell for departmental Christmas drinks but won't be attending later this year. Please...

The Bell Inn a community owned pub with over 800 share holders. A Bath institution and very popular at the weekends.

Visiting in a sunny Saturday early afternoon, we found a chilled atmosphere and had time to chat to staff and fellow punters... When we returned around 9.30 in the evening the whole place was jumping!

In the current CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2024, with a pop up pizza stall in the evenings. Regular music and community events, with plenty of seating in the outside area at the rear.

Not an up market venue, but if that's what you want Bath had plenty of such places... But if you want a good pub with decent ale, and a friendly lively atmosphere "The...

It's persistent entry in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide, means I will be visiting this pub at least once per year. It does deserve more than this though, there is a bohemian ambience to the place that is not reflected in many establishments today. It's owned by 53 regulars and staff who in 2013 made a community buy-out. There are at least seven real ales at any one time plus local sourced cider. Music is a mainstay, with bands playing Monday & Wednesday evenings and also Sunday lunchtimes. On Thursday nights an open-mic bar to the rear in the 'Love Lounge, cements the musical accreditation. Food? Not a big feature here.

Split mind on this place, liked the pub altho a little pricey and for it being pricy the fixtures are not great, there damage or worn all over the place. After speaking with locals was advised its owned by locals that are shareholders and saved it, well saving the pub is great but after that you need to spend to keep it in good repair especially when your charging high for the drinks. Fantasic place will also come back but would like to see it fixed.
