The traders @the market are the real salt of earth always happy and willing to help i knew the old market from the 60's unbelievably packed on Fridays and Saturdays i remember being dragged around there for hours by my mother shopping for our weekly grocery and meat fish flowers all outside in the rain snow and sunshine then into woolworths for other things then it's all changed paved the whole city centre so no cars can park nowadays hardly anyone going in except my mother who is 90 and still managing to go down for her meat fish cowfoot fruits etc i really feel for those guys who have lost so much business dew to redevelopment we really need cars back into the city centre town is so dead nowadays...

Read moreDecent food for really low prices. Although you do have to make sure to check all the food you're buying, because sometimes it has fungus. The stalls only sell food that is in season. Way cheaper than a grocery store so I recommend buying food essentials there (e.g. vegetables, fruits, etc). You get foods that you wouldn't usually find in a grocery store, so if you want to try something new, this would be a good opportunity.
