Selly Oak Shopping Park has transformed the retail landscape of Selly Oak, offering a modern and convenient shopping destination that serves not only the local community but also students from the nearby University of Birmingham and visitors to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A Broad Range of Retailers: The strength of Selly Oak Shopping Park lies in its diverse mix of well-known retailers. Anchored by a large Sainsbury's (which notably includes an integrated Argos and often a strong "Food Market" with options like hot pizza and sushi), it provides comprehensive grocery and household shopping. Other major tenants include M&S Foodhall and Next, offering fashion and homeware. You'll also find popular brands like JD Sports, Nando's, Poundland, Costa, Superdrug, Mountain Warehouse, The Works, Card Factory, Greggs, and Slim Chickens. This variety makes it a true one-stop shop for many daily needs and leisure pursuits. Dining and Refreshments: While it's primarily a retail park, there are ample options for a quick bite or a more substantial meal. Beyond the in-Sainsbury's food offerings, you have Nando's, Costa, Greggs, and Slim Chickens, catering to different tastes and meal times. This helps to extend the time shoppers might spend at the park. Accessibility and Convenience: A major draw of Selly Oak Shopping Park is its excellent accessibility. It boasts ample free parking for up to 4 hours, which is a significant advantage over city centre shopping, and often includes EV charging points. Its location near major roads, the Selly Oak train station, and numerous bus routes makes it easy to reach by car and public transport. Pedestrian links, including access to the canal, also help connect it to the wider Selly Oak area. Atmosphere and Experience: The shopping park has a modern and open feel, designed for convenience. While some might argue the immediate surrounding high street area of Selly Oak has its own challenges (like traffic on the roundabout), the shopping park itself is generally clean, well-maintained, and offers a pleasant environment for shopping. It's particularly appreciated for consolidating many popular stores into one easily accessible location. Overall: Selly Oak Shopping Park is a highly functional and successful retail hub. Its strong tenant mix, coupled with ample free parking and good transport links, makes it a go-to destination for many in the south-west Birmingham area. It's a testament to effective urban development, providing a modern and convenient shopping experience that was much needed in...

We had a NACHOS which was supposed to be with cheese, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, jalapeños and chopped chives but it came with….. No guacamole, no sour cream, no chives, no salsa Did have: a bit of cheese, jalapeños and TOMATO FRICKEN PURÉE.

The gravy with the pie was refused to come out of the pot.

The burgers were warm not hot with no burger sauce. And there was chicken gravy with the chicken burger.

Veggie burger was warm pale and look like it hasn’t really been cooked and also had TOMATO PURÉE instead of salsa ‘what a joke with the PURÉE, what’s that about?’.

The cheesy garlic bread was clearly done in the microwave and it was soggy.

Also, some of us had finished eating by the time the rest of our family got their food. Limited menu options which at no point was displayed or mentioned to us. Was over priced for the food tbh!

Service was okay, the staff were nice and apologetic when the food came out. They worked with what they had so 10/10.

In short words it was kind of disappointing.

To the chef tho MUST TRY...

Sainsbury seems larger becausue of the clothing line added compared to the old store. However, isles seems to be wider giving the impression there's more stock (larger floor plan etc). Very busy during usual shopping hours; getting in and out of the complex can be a pain as there are very long queues. It was already a busy traffic spot but these new shops have made it worse. Expect queuing times of around 30-50mins during peak shopping times.

I've never been to such a big Sainsbury's. Had everything we could want. In particular we wanted to have some food there. The food market (food court) was great. We had a pick and mix breakfast that was both well cooked and super cheap. The car park under the store was massive too.
