It was honestly such a lovely experience living at Weaver Place for 2 years straight! To summarise an experience that felt incredibly prolonged...I used to reside in an accommodation (Cor..Vil...) that genuinely caused me depression due to its extremely mundane setting, lack of amenities and unwelcoming/disrespectful customer service team. I used to see IQ from my window every morning but as I was a month into my booking, there were no studios left. Not only that, I was stuck in contract that could cause me long-term problems and the team were far from helpful. One day, I saw an available room in a 2-bed apartment at Weaver Place and decided to visit. Despite having to share a bathroom with a stranger, it felt like a huge improvement. No exaggeration... but coming from such a dark place, stepping into IQ felt like I was stepping into the light!
Both years were spent in a 2-bed apartment, with my final year living aloneâan absolute dream. The maintenance team were efficient with requests, and the grounds were tidy and presentable The laundry amenities were great, with refunds for unused money upon checkout No need to sign in/out guests or submit overnight forms Social spaces are modern and well-utilised It is perfectly situated in the city centre, close to shops, leisure activities, and transport links And the staff always asked for permission before conducting viewings, which was considerate
Now .. I am not sure if it is because I had a spare room next to me as this did not occur during my first stay, but every now and then someone would come in and do checks in the second room (my guess is just to make sure everything was okay) so I'd probably recommend not walking around naked even if you live by yourself just to save the awkwardness (not that it happened to me but it could of LOL). Nevertheless, it was not disruptive and they were super quick. Also, if you plan to check-out on any weekend before the final checkout date, be aware that gate access may not be possible. Even though I enquired beforehand and it was okay, the security told me no on the day which made the move a lot more stressful. This was a little frustrating as not everyone can do a weekday to gain gate access.
Nonetheless, I can hands down say it was one of the best moments of my life staying there and I would not have wanted to do my university experience anywhere else. The customer service team are exceptional...I promise I have no favourites :) I really could talk forever about the positives but I'll just say I highly recommend...
Read moreI stayed at iQ Weaver Place during the 2024â2025 academic year, and unfortunately, my overall experience was not very positive due to several maintenance and management issues. While the building itself is relatively new and modern, the way certain problems were handled significantly affected my stay.
Water Pipe Issue One of the biggest issues was the persistent water pipe noise, which lasted for over three months. The noise often occurred late at night or even as early as 4 a.m., making it extremely difficult to sleep. Despite filing multiple complaints (and knowing that other residents did the same), the problem wasnât resolved effectively or quickly. For a student accommodation, where proper rest is essential, this was very disruptive and should have been addressed more efficiently.
Microwave Replacement Another frustrating experience was with my broken microwave. After reporting the issue, it took the management over a month to replace it, despite me following up three times. To make matters worse, when I raised the issue verbally with the senior manager, I was met with an unpleasant attitude. She even claimed that my microwave wasnât on the replacement list, despite me having written confirmation from maintenance that it was due to be replaced. This interaction left me feeling ignored and undervalued as a resident.
Staff and General Impressions On a more positive note, most of the staff members were friendly and tried to be as helpful as they could within their capacity. The building itself is modern and fairly well-kept, but the managementâs inefficiency in resolving major issues (like maintenance and communication) really overshadowed the positives.
Although the facilities are modern, the unresolved maintenance issues and poor management made my stay...

I would stay there for one more year, but for personal reasons I...
